- I had Zachary and company out for a swordfishing charter aboard the "Broad Minded" this early December Day. It was slow in the morning but just before lunch we hooked up to a swordfish! Bean harpooned the fish early in the fight but the harpoon pulled out! Watch to see what happens! In the afternoon we caught some blackbelly rosefish and a barrelfish as well. Back at home we grill up some fish for dinner with the family!

What a great experience for a kid and even Adults. it takes alot of heart for kid to want that big of catch and to go way offshore at a young age. start them when they young so they can have enough money to buy that big center console when they big like nick haha.

For all the people that are giving Nick a bunch of crap for picking on the bean this is high-stakes fishing the amount of mistakes I’ve seen bean Make would never cut it on the long range boats same type a high steak fishing a mistake once in a while is one thing but he makes them consistently when you’re paying upwards to three grand for a fishing trip you you don’t want people making mistakes and Nick you got the patience of Job

I learned some important lessons about fishing in the Keys watching this video.
Lesson 1: Have no expectations of what will happen. You don’t know what you will catch or how you will catch it.
Lesson #2: Things happen. Equipment or humans can fail. Be flexible. The captain and crew have the experience and knowledge of how to figure out a way to get a fish into the boat.
Lesson #3: Sooner or later, you will catch a fish.

Bean looks like he's scared of hurting the fish sometimes. The second throw was more aggressive though. Great video as always. Keep them coming.
The biggest fear about throwing the harpoon is hitting the line with the dart.
I've never done it, but from the sidelines, it seems that patience pays off. Wait till you have a shot you are very confident that you can make, otherwise you risk hitting the line or sending the fish down for 20 minutes more of an opportunity to pull the hook.
