This is a small sample, but.. The good: He stays calm in the pocket and takes off running as a last resort. He feels defenders around him. Spidey senses. He has the subtle moves to get out of danger. This was a necessity this year as he has a not great OL protecting him. He doesn't key on one receiver and goes through all the reads necessary. His arm is strong enough to fit the ball into tight holes on short to intermediate passes be they flags or slants with great accuracy. The bad: Even though is dad may be one of the greatest athletes I've ever seen play, he is nowhere near that. While possessing good instincts in the pocket, he doesn't have the running skills that you need with a QB in the modern game, especially one without a big arm. He currently has -77 yds rushing on the season. His deep ball has no pop. If you look at his deep passes, a bunch are 50/50 balls where his WR won the battle. Also, a lot of these don't hit the runner in stride but require the receiver to slow up for them, or hit the ground to catch them. His completion percentage is great at 72%...but his yards per attempt is ranked 22 in the nation. He has very good numbers...but he's done it vs the likes of Arizona, Texas Tech, Colorado State, Nebraska, etc. Not exactly top notch competition. Summation. He's a very good/great college QB, but I don't think his game will translate well into the pro game, where the athletes won't let him get away with a lot of the balls he's thrown in college.

I simply haven't seen accuracy on his long ball. If you disagree with my take, that's fine.l've had a pretty good track record over the past 10 drafts as to who will hit and who won't...not perfect, but right more often than not. We shall see.l

He’s a good player don’t get me wrong but I don’t like the way the ball comes out of his hand. Particularly on short routes. It has a tendency to wiggle and he pulls a lot of passes into the dirt. He wants to guide it in and it looks like his pointer finger is heavy and he’s leaning forward too much. I’m a former lineman and I only played D2 so take it worth a grain of salt but something is off about his release.
