I live 30 miles from there, and drove by the museum many times but never stopped, that was a big deal when Glen landed on the moon, i remember thinking that impossible when I j was a kid, then it happened, i wish it wouldn't have happened for anyone, it should have always been a wonderment!!!!
This born and raised Buckeye offering assistance here, not criticism. Lima, Ohio is prounounced Lie' ma.... not the Spanish influenced of Lee ma. Also, and you get points for making the effort, Armstrong's hometown and site of the museum is Whop ahh con eta. But you tried. Points for that. I haven't lived in he state since 1969 but it is still "home. Also, as a kid during the space program I ate, breathed and lived. it. John Glenn also from Ohio. Yet, strangely for all its fascination I've never been in the Armstrong Museum though I've driven by it on Interstate 75 dozens of times. And while Wapokeneta got the museum because it was quick on the draw, Armstrong actually spent more time growing up in Upper Sandusky, in Wyandot county, but that is south east and NOT on the Lincoln highway.
I appreciate the feedback. I didn't consider the Lie'ma option; it makes sense. And your phonetic "Whop ahh con eta" is mind boggling. Once I saw it, I can't pronounce it another way. Thank you. I assume that it's very similar to moving from SoCal (lots of Spanish origin named places) to the NW Washington area (Inuit origin names), I can correctly name all of SoCal, but here? Ya, I'm still learning. Seriously, thank you for the information and thanks for watching the video.

I was not expecting the quality and information I found inside the museum. If you have a chance, you need to go. I hope you do.
