WALKING IN ESSEX | TILLINGHAM AND SOUTHMINSTER | PLUS A HIDDEN SURPRISE!

  • In this video I visit the Dengie Peninsula in Essex again with Candice for an 8.5 mile circular walk around Tillingham and Southminster, making good use of a section of the St. Peter's Way long distance footpath. We were using the Essex walks guidebook again so naturally we got horrifically lost a couple of times. A petition is being drawn up by people who have walked with me and endured this awful book for it to be burnt once it is finished.
Southminster's church has a very important claim to fame, regarding a certain Horatio Nelson. We had lunch there. The pubs were still closed at the time of filming this.
There is a surprise addition in the video, something extra but you'll have to watch to find out.
Enjoy, thanks for your continued support and welcome and thanks to any new subscribers.

The OS map is an essential as it gives you a wider picture than the book planned route. Plus if you need a diversion, a shop, pub, etc it's there to help. OS must be some of the best maps produced anywhere.

Great post, well done to both of you, some of the footpaths in this area are a bit overgrown, glad to see you in my hometown, Southminster. Keep it quiet it's a lovely part of the world, hopefully I'll see you around Bradwell soon, all being well I should be wild camping again soon

Another fun video, great to see the wild camp pictures at the end. Thanks for all the work you do filming and editing these films Tom. My favourites are the walks with history and local interest.

I had problems with the first upload. The camping photos weren't showing up so I had to delete and redo the video and upload it 4 times until it worked!
