I bought it, and didn’t think 480 would be too bad. But it is. I have a 1080 in my bedroom and what a difference. Anyway, I don’t mind the 480 resolution. My main issue is that dark scenes are too dark, even in the darkest room. I don’t know if it got a defective one or that’s just the brightness of this specific device. Any crime/thriller movies are almost unwatchable.
Hey sorry to hear this. Yes if you have something to compare with constantly, the difference will be clear. Hmm. . I would possibly film what you are seeing and shoot Nebula a support ticket to let them see what you're seeing in case there is an issue with your unit.
Thank you for the review. It was quite informative and detailed. I have a question: would it be useful for educational purposes inside a classroom? And how would 200 ANSI lumens be compared to other kinds of lumens that other projectors? Unfortunately I haven't been able to buy one since it is not available here in Iraq yet.
Thanks for your comment! Yes really any of the projectors I tested would be usable in the classroom, especially if you blackout the room. While its possible to watch during the day, it won't be ideal and you'd probably find it hard to see the images clearly. - Check out my other review videos - and you can see if you can spot any differences in the dark (will be uploading the other reviews in the next week or so. thanks for your interest! :)
Wow so compact it is just like you are carrying a can of soda in the hand, a nice review and testing, I wonder if with this size or form factor compared to other Projector with about the same Ansi Lumens Brightness would it differ in the power consumption in terms of wattage per hour ? Or the Brightness and the quality of the sound compared to others might affect efficiency too? Thanks...
Thanks for watching! That's a good question and is only really important I guess if you carrying it around. this was the only projector I tested that was actually portable and had its own rechargeable battery.
Hello thanks for your comment. yes 480 is definitely not ideal, but really depends on each persons use case. Personally if I was to get one for a home I would probably want at least 1080P.
After your review finally I have mine for few days now, the image quality is really good but I notice dust particles accumulating between lens and lens cover glass and on lens itself. Which is impossible to clean. It's seems that the lenses are not sealed from the inside and the fan. Do you have the same thing? Wonder if it will affect image quality soon.
Hello there. happy to hear you got one for yourself. sorry to hear about the dust particles you are finding in your Apollo. No I didn't notice this. .I would just monitor how it goes and possibly drop Anker an email with some video / images of the issue and ask them about it in the meantime - Just to alert them of your concern, and have them prepared should you need to follow up with them if performance is affected. Do let me know how you go!
@@DerrickSiuthank you for your reply I'll have to do like you said. In the meantime I put thin nylon pantyhose over the projector to filter the dust 🤭 it's cold outside the air is very dry and so more particles flying. Luckily the design of projector made it possible to leave the lens uncover and access to the ports while wrapping the rest in pantyhose or stockings and if you use black one it resemble more of the cover protector of a hifi speakers.
Anker reply today, they are sorry to inform that the reported condition is due to the structure of the projector, so understand that it is within the specification range of the product. So seems like I have to leave with that. Hope my invented filter will help.
These devices are the biggest junk imaginable. When they break-and trust me, they *will* break-you might as well use them as paperweights! First, the battery or the charging port will fail, both of which are subpar quality. Then, the DLP chip will follow, just as shoddy, and you'll quickly notice dead pixels spreading like a bad rash.

You made it look it's best, but the resolution..... not good enough in 2022. The minimum for projectors should be 720p in this day and age.IMHO

@@KuruKuruGorilla good idea :) let me know if you get a reply from Anker!

@@KuruKuruGorilla Thanks for the update!. Fingers crossed you do not get any interference with the performance of the projector.
How do you clean it when the dust gets trapped inside?
I would get an air blower and possibly a keyboard cover or cloth to protect it if that is a concern.
