DR was the first roast master. Dude was a a genius at hitting people with jokes that were just the right amount of fucked up. He's one of the few guys in history that can tell racist ass jokes in a room full of those people and kill the room. I was a kid/young teenager back in the 70's when this stuff came out. WOW, I miss those times. People of all races got along a lot better than today. You didn't have politicians trying to make us hate each other like today. No one got offended. Like this video, we hated bigotry of all types and made fun of it. Today, people get offended way too easily and don't know how to know the difference between being serious and being funny. This type of humor would be banned today. It's wrong. When Fred Sanford and George Jefferson made the racist white jokes, I thought they were hilarious (I'm white). When Archie Bunker and Don Rickles made black jokes, my black friends laughed. Don Rickles always ended his show making a positive comment, showing that everything he did was just a joke and not to be taken seriously. But he was always quick witted, and one of the best commedians around. He mistakenly fell into this type of humor when he actually did get angry and he was getting a better reaction to the jokes.
I saw Rickles at Mohegan Sun in 2011. I was hurting the next day so bad from laughing so hard and so much . He was frail but still had the mind!! So fast, non stop laughs ! Knowbody even came close to making me laugh as hard ! Best roaster ever, hands down ! Rip Don !

Jeff Ross used the “I use your show as a nightlight” when on a CNN show. Speaking of him, I’m sure you know how ingrained in this roast-culture he is, there’s a few good ones of his out there. There’s one of him on a morning talk radio show in South Africa and he roasts the dj/hosts. Without knowing who the hosts are, I found that clip hilarious because he’s just firing at first sight without knowing much about them. I recommend it although - I don’t want it to take away from any upcoming Giraldo clips because those have a good chance of being taken down. I recommend acquiring and viewing all the roasts but ignoring the non-comedian portions (comedy central gimmicks having people like hulk hogan and ann coulter attempting comedy). You’re a smart guy and a damn good reactor. Hope you continue.
