Chris, your videos are awesome and you are a great RUclipsr. Enjoy you go to the mountain test this mountain bike, this way to explain the GF600 climbing performance. We often have clients ask us if they are heavy enough to ride the GF600, and I think now they will know the answer by watching your video.

Thank you so much for this review. Just bought one for my 16 year old son. We live in the sut of the UK and it cost a little over £1200. My son looooves it. He toyed with the idea of getting a motobike and a car but both had too many disavantages, two being fuel and insurance costs. We live in a village so for him this is the best way to commute to the surrounding villages where his girlfriend, friends and part time work is. He is no longer sweaty when he goes out. I reguarly use a road bike for fittness and fun but this bike I love how you can sit back and take in all in without grind 👍

Great review as always. Looks like a strong bike. Do you think it is a genuine 1000w motor? Or one that peaks at 1000w under full throttle or when going up hill? Most of these class of bikes have in reality around 750 nominal watt motors that peak at 1000w. Some of the displays have a function that allows the actual wattage to be displayed in real time as you ride. Quoting the peak watts reached would make an interesting addition to your great Ebike reviews. A 1000w motor will show wattage of 1200 plus going up hill.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  2 года назад +2

Hi, there was no way for me to view the peak wattage on the screen unlike some other displays. But I think it's probably 1000W peak it certainly has a lot of get up and go in the climbs compared to others.

Is this a direct drive or geared hub motor ? anyone know the make and model of the motor ?
I used to have a mac 8t geared rear hub motor, I had a battery current of 50 amps and 60 volts or 66.5 volts hot off the charger, I used RC Lipo. 3 Kw, boy, you can imagine the fun. I regretted selling it.
It could climb hills so fast it rarely got too hot, the issue with hubs is that slow climbing makes them very inefficient and they heat up fast as most of the power is converted to heat, motors like to spin fast, this is where mid drives can work better because you can use the bikes gearing.
A slower 10 or 12T motor and higher voltage would be more efficient at turning the energy to power rather than heat.
I'd be interested to know what motor this bike uses.
Mid drive motors seem to have an issue of cogging, causing drag when the motor is turned off and I do not like this at all. My bosch bike is very difficult to pedal compared to a normal bike without power and it's not due to the extra weight.
This is the reason I would go back to a geared hub, less maintenance, smooth power delivery and above all the bike feels like a normal bike when the power to the motor is off because I like to pedal a lot this is my preference.

    • @Techtablets

@@Techtablets I actually meant to write Denia but I was just looking at some houses in Gandía so made a typo :) Definitely going to keep an eye on the area, but didn't see too much new construction going on, at least not in my price range. Nevertheless thanks for the info :)

Ah okay. Well there is a lot of new construction of apartments as always. But the price is going up. Denia is becoming a bit more upmarket now and so are the prices sadly. But nothing like the prices of houses now in Auckland is just insane!

    I weigh 120 kg, and I measure 1.78 meters.
Would this bike work for me?
I was looking for a comfortable touring bike, not to go to the mountain. But for mixed terrain, earth and tar.
To see if I lose some weight little by little. The fact that it's electric could help when you get more tired. Since I have no physical preparation.
Or should I rather see a more urban bike?
What would you recommend? Thank you and very good video as always

This bike is rated for 200 kg. I want you to put on a fatsuit and max this bike out. Many people in the 100 - 140 kg range buy these bikes just because they are rated for us fat boys. We break normal bikes. And an 82kg man will not give accurate results.
