    I love my spring under YJ samurai, using 10" travel shocks. flexes good and rides great, and is really stable when jumping and landing.

      Awesome, that’s what I like to hear. I’m definitely leaning that way!

    Also would definitely be keen to see a spring under build 🙌

    Very nice video bud. And your right that frame reinforcement plate is a necessity for any off-roaded Sammy. Keep up the good work!

    I think you should build a bad ass dragster out of the new samurai! I've been looking at those shock towers a lot lately, I might need to pick up a pair

  • @lynnlarson
    @lynnlarson 6 лет назад +2

    You should do a video on what you took and how you packed the Samurai for your Rubicon trips.

    • @BuiltForDirt
      @BuiltForDirt  6 лет назад

      Yes, that is a great idea. I was actually thinking about that the other day. I totally will do that!

    • @lynnlarson
      @lynnlarson 6 лет назад

      TJ Mitchell Films I'm preparing for my first Rubicon trip this summer. That video would be great! Curious to see what tools/parts you took and how managed the small space.

    Just an FYI, the dude was referring to the saki differential side, you will have to use studs to get the adapter to work with the flange.

    • @BuiltForDirt
      @BuiltForDirt  6 лет назад

      Ah that would make sense. Totally didn’t even think about that. The Toyota axles have me spoiled

    Dang those shock towers are beefy! With all the extra plating and support everywhere you really are slimming down the possibilities of trail break downs. Does all the extra protection in some areas make other areas more susceptible to breakage?

    • @BuiltForDirt
      @BuiltForDirt  6 лет назад +1

      No the front end is pretty beefed up now at this point. I don’t expect to break anything there

    I think a spring under build would be cool for the new zuk. I'm planing to do a spring under RUF with 1.5" OME springs. I'm looking at Low Range's RUF kit.

    • @BuiltForDirt
      @BuiltForDirt  6 лет назад

      Awesome! What size tire are you planning on running?

    • @vincenttschida8849
      @vincenttschida8849 6 лет назад

      I'm hoping to use a 235/75r 15 with that setup. I need to do a little more research though.

    Spring under with drop hangers and skinny tires would be sweet. like what the Japanese jimny guys do if you’ve ever seen pics or videos

    How did you do the alignment on the mounts?

    • @BuiltForDirt
      @BuiltForDirt  5 лет назад

      Just eyed where looked right, tacked the plate and bolted the shock up to check if it was where I wanted it then welded it up. So I guess what I’m saying is I used where the lower shock mount was to dictate where the top mount ended up

    • @BuiltForDirt
      @BuiltForDirt  4 года назад +1

      No most of them are 4x4s but they made a small amount that were 2 wheel drive

      @@BuiltForDirt my brother just gave me an 86 samurai, its I real fixer upper, but I'm pretty fired up to get her running. I plan on using it as a hunting rig. Do you have any particular websites/forums you go to for parts and info? I dont really know much about this vehicle. Any info would help. Thank you again for your reply!!!!

      Suzuki Samurai Owners 2.0 is a great Facebook group. Lots of knowledgeable people on there. As for parts I usually used ZuksOffroad.com and LowRangeOffroad.com
