That was awesome with the mustache. Great to see y'all poke a little fun at each other. I will be looking for Riley's poke at you on their channel. Great video and a sweet ride you're on.
Glad you guys had a calm passage at Cape Hatteras. We had a rough time getting around there and then spent a month there for repairs; it seemed like everyday was high winds and tall seas or totally becalmed.
Too funny ! As they were crewing, Not sailing. Sailing is when you are trusted to deliver a vessel under your charge to a destination. Crewing is when you help the owner or transport captain in said delivery. This couple is cute and sailors in their own right, but lets not over reach.
I am binge watching the older videos. My first thought was that this cat looks like La Vagabonde II, but somewhat bigger. And then Kika made her hilarious Riley impression! Given that Brian was in Step 125 and that the people from Sailing Atticus and Sailing RAN have visited Uma earlier, it is always fun with various interconnections between RUclips-channels.
I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point for most of my 20 years in the Marine Corps and I would walk the docks down at Beaufort a LOT looking at all the different kinds of transient boats passing through to see what type I liked best. AND I viewed this Step on the "4th of July" in 2020.
What a fabulous opportunity to do a great delivery trip on a cool catamaran . Despite your lack of wind many delivery trip are more time dependent so motoring is common. Doing a passage in a large boat is so much easier on the body and mind. Wonderful experience! Thanks for sharing! Cheers Warren.
I first started with La Vagabonde so it was nice that you mentioned them....I am sure you know by now that they have a son, Lenny, and he is really growing and will celebrate his first birthday in a few months. Thanks for your hard work.
Glad you stopped in at Beaufort, that's my home town! You should have interviewed the resident pirate - Sinbad! If you ever go back it is worth a visit :-)
Long Island where i grew up. On the North Fork in the small hamlet of Southold. Our school logo was a square rigger whaling ship. I miss walking down the beach.
Don't buy a couch ... but definitely by an air conditioner :p What a beautiful catamaran! Amazing space on a catamaran. Kika you goof ball. Fun adventure - thanks for sharing. Cheers!
No wind is a pain, but better than too much wind. I think on a monohull with 5-10 mph behind you there would have been some wing and wing going on, maybe a polled out asymmetrical. I really need to think about a regular spinnaker for occasions like that. When you were leaving Beaufort NC you pointed to a spit of land and called it Hatteras. I think that was Cape Lookout. If you get back up that way there's an awesome anchorage inside Cape Lookout. Good video - cheers, tally ho!
I've seen utremers with following winds do wing on wing and just flat out hauling ass. A 5 kt wind from behind isn't great but you could sail it just as you could in a monohull.
OOOOOhhhhh Kika - You just know SLV is not going to let that slide. Somewhere, somehow Riley's going to get his revenge, watch your back ! And when it happens don't forget to smile :-)
This boat is my goal - only $1.4 mil for a new one. IMO Outremer has perfected the balance of comfort and speed with the 5X!!! But right now my budget matches for a Gemini. So lots of work to do! Thank you for the inspiring and informational video
Keep a lookout for Billy and Sierra ( Tulas Endless Summer ) They are living aboard their cat while both working as Ocean Life Guards on Fire Island, Long Island. If you see a Boston Whaler zipping along at about 50 kts, not to worry,,,,, just Billy late for work, as usual :)
A fantastic video with a wonderful impersonation of Riley! The outreamer 5X is delicious. What a boat! Keep up the great work. Your channel is my sailing fix for this (currently) semi land locked Aussie!
You guys say "dont buy a couch" but the one thing I've noticed over and over again is that you guys are usually uncomfortable. Are you sure a 41' aft cabin center cockpit heavy displacement 'couch' wouldn't make your life a little happier? Sure, you wont get there fast but who's in a hurry? My 14 y/o daughter and I are on the hunt for our first sailboat and we plan to leave Florida in November if it all works out. You guys have inspired us to go green, we plan to be self sufficient for all but food (too bad we dont eat much fish). How much does the comfort factor affect your decision on where to sail, when to sail, etc? I'm still on the fence and we're still considering something a little smaller and faster, I'd love your input! Thank you for the inspiration. You guys and SLV are like members of our family now!
I believe that comfort is in the eye of the beholder. There are always sacrifices and compromises when it comes to any lifestyle. We love our boat, she allows us to follow our dreams, sails well, but most importantly she is our home, 100% ours, and we would never sacrifice that freedom by going into debt for a "better" boat. That being said, everyone's comfort level is different, but you should not let "comfort" keep you from leaving the dock. We left 3 years ago without autopilot, fridge, shower, working head... but the boat had sails and a sturdy hull so WE LEFT and are doing what we love - that was our priority- And as we move forward exploring dozens of countries, we make modifications to the boat to fit our own needs and lifestyle. We know many others who waited and waited for the perfect boat and 4 years later are still at the same dock. There are certain things a boat needs, but it is much shorter than the list of things you would want in it. My advice would be to find out what your priorities are (Needs vs Wants) and let that guide your decision. Hope you find what you are looking for 🙂 -Cheers! (Kika)
Great vlog Riley. a 5x Outremer must be awesome to sail. Would you give your thoughts on it in a future vlog. It looks as though you will have at least some wind. Love you guys
Super editing guys..Kika keep trying that Strayn accent, sounds french to this Ausi ha ha. You godda try Rylies laugh though. That's the hard part. Good stuff guys...
I met a guy in bvi that his job was to deliver boats by water. I said you have the best job in the world. Wish I had known you all were stopping in Beaufort. Great videos. Dang the wife is cute!
Byron P Penick Delivering boats is often boring and also scary. You spend a lot of time motoring to meet a schedule and you also are moving boats that may not be ready for the trip so there can be scary issues to deal with, sinking ,broken engines , broke rigs etc. but really good experience for the right kind of person if you can handle it.! Cheers Warren
warp21drive if you have this profession I would like to apprentice. I love being on the water and love sailing especially! I learned at a very early age in Annapolis that it is better to be able borrow a friend's boat than to actually own one. I don't give my sailboat the attention it actually deserves which is constant upkeep. So to get paid to use another's boat sounds heavenly. It sounds like an endless vacation that someone is paying me to be on.
No, It is Bow-furt, NC and Bewfert, SC. Both spelled Beaufort. The SC one is sorta between Edisto and Hilton Head. And for God's sake don't pronounce either one like the other when you are in one or the other! The locals will NOT be happy with you.
to me....a YT sailor who has 0000000.0 on his sailing odometer....a mono is like flying economy and a cat is like business. but i still think i'd prefer the mono. especially your mono. riley's accent seemed to drift from aussie to jamaican. :) nice episode....thnx.
The only thing this was, was a low-blow to the patreons for 1) not forking enough cash over so that you can buy an outremer and 2) no meet up in New York! I will go sulk for a few minutes and return waiting for you two to provide more great content. 😁
Outreamer isnt the same i know they are faster and layed out for more comfort but a sloop leans and bobs, sometimes they make death seem near but i enjoy the fear and the lean. Cats are just too easy. Autopilot boats.
Favorite part is when Kika said "mustard". Too adorable. Second favorite part: Impersonation of a "certain boat captain". Ha ha ha. Awesome.
That was awesome with the mustache. Great to see y'all poke a little fun at each other. I will be looking for Riley's poke at you on their channel. Great video and a sweet ride you're on.
Good work.. on the Riley impersonation... especially with head and moe .. great fun..
Glad you guys had a calm passage at Cape Hatteras. We had a rough time getting around there and then spent a month there for repairs; it seemed like everyday was high winds and tall seas or totally becalmed.
Riley impression while sailing an Outremer bigger than LaVaga' II...priceless! You guys rock!
Too funny ! As they were crewing, Not sailing. Sailing is when you are trusted to deliver a vessel under your charge to a destination. Crewing is when you help the owner or transport captain in said delivery. This couple is cute and sailors in their own right, but lets not over reach.
Loving the Riley impersonation! So funny!

I was watching while drinking tea and almost choked and died when little Kika showed up as Riley from Lavaga... literally, almost died. LOL
Looks like a very comfortable boat! That Riley impression had me laughing! Excellent video!
Haha! Kika doing Riley! Classic.
Yes - than Dan should become ... a growing belly?
The foot cut was hilarious! LOL so was the Riles imitation,
I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point for most of my 20 years in the Marine Corps and I would walk the docks down at Beaufort a LOT looking at all the different kinds of transient boats passing through to see what type I liked best. AND I viewed this Step on the "4th of July" in 2020.

Too funny!! You two are always up for an adventure!! Peace, Love and Happiness!!

😂😂😂😂 Great Riley Impersonation!!! Love it..
A woman of many talents! I like your squeezebox skills playing that little shanty.
Yay, a tour, thank you.
We laughed so much at Kika as Riley.
Epic! Riley’s impersonation was so funny!
So excited to hear that you are installing radar and AIS on Uma. It's my winter project so hopefully I'll learn even more from you guys.
Lol! I loved the La Vaga bit!
I'm half way through the video and had to stop to remark on the most excellent B-roll. You are fast becoming Masters of the B-roll. Total eye candy.
Lol..best Australian accent you can mustard;)Giggled on that one:)
That cat was huge"
But it sure looked comfortable.
Thank's for sharing.
I literally lol'd out loud at the Riley impression! 🤣🤣🤣
Love the impression of Riley, that was funny.
Glad you stopped in at Beaufort, that's my home town! You should have interviewed the resident pirate - Sinbad! If you ever go back it is worth a visit :-)
I want to go on a boat ride. It's almost spring time in lower Michigan. It's a bit nippy to be on a boat up here.
Montauk is my old stomping grounds/ almost every weekend during the summer and Autumn when my boat wasn't docked in Old Saybrook
Long Island where i grew up. On the North Fork in the small hamlet of Southold. Our school logo was a square rigger whaling ship. I miss walking down the beach.
sweet edits peeps, love those soft transitions with extra sfx added.
:D that was a hilarious impression of SLV!
My brother was stationed in ft. Macon twice and just transferred to new Orleans. I absolutely love the Beaufort area.
Don't buy a couch ... but definitely by an air conditioner :p What a beautiful catamaran! Amazing space on a catamaran. Kika you goof ball. Fun adventure - thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Coffee Area#1 lol. Perfect. Also so awesome to travel in that style. Don’t get spoiled cause then the fun is gone. Enjoy

I lived in Oz for a year and I still couldn't do the accent, although I did start raising my voice at the end of every sentence. Love Oz 💗
You all are awesome. I’m from Montauk. Really cool to see home. Completely inspired.
Happened to watch this episode on a large screen. Don’t know what you guys are filming with now, but really sharp film and excellent lighting👍
So so jealous, my dream boat and you are almost within shouting distance. ;)
OOOOOhhhhh Kika - You just know SLV is not going to let that slide. Somewhere, somehow Riley's going to get his revenge, watch your back ! And when it happens don't forget to smile :-)
looking forward to it 😋
Probably going to tp your boat a the marina. ;)
Nice job on the Riley impersonation and the moe. ;)
Nice job... Thanks for sharing...
Hey just watching you latest episode. If you guys are still on Long Island, we'd love to take you out to dinner or show you the sights!
LOL!
Kika...
You missed your calling!!!
You should do Stand-Up comedy!!!!
I laughed so hard at your Mustached Skit!!!
This boat is my goal - only $1.4 mil for a new one. IMO Outremer has perfected the balance of comfort and speed with the 5X!!!
But right now my budget matches for a Gemini. So lots of work to do! Thank you for the inspiring and informational video
Catamarans are pretty awesome - so much space; stability; visibility..more air flow and ventilation..l'd have one in a flash...
Not first, not even second - Just happy to be here enjoying another fun video. :-)
I'm 109,255th! Just a year late to the party.
Wow, awesome opportunity!
The Reilly scene was FUNNY .. LOL

Omg! I spit my Martini when Kika impersonated Riley!!! Terrible waste of Vodka!
Great video but would prefer to be on Uma sailing, hate motoring and love the quiet of sailing with the water rushing by the hull
It took me a moment, but then I got the mustache connection. LMAO.
I would argue this is not a performance cat but rather a regular cat and that other cats are houseboats on twin hulls.
Elaina, grab the fenders .... looool
That’s a very convincing Riley!
Great sunset
That's a great ride. I've sailed Wabi Sabi as well.
LOL I didn’t know Riley was Indian! 😂
Also, the clickbait totally worked on us - hooked like a fish 🎣
We prefer Uma to fancy boats though 😉
Ciaoo Kittiwake ... i am waiting next episode and IESS indian accent!!
Maurizio Canale ciao Maurizio! ❤️ Next episode is up on Monday 😊
As a matter of fact UMA is an Indian name

Funny as Riley impression 🤣👍
This vid was hilarious, and love Riley’s sense of humor with his comment. Your editing is incredible now. Are you using FCP?
thanks for the laughs really enjoyed it.
One of the fastest cats on the seven seas and you got no wind - arrrrr gh
It's like ya'll stayed in a fancy, floating hotel. I can't believe Riley opted for no A/C on the new La Vagabonde...
Are you having a meet and greet in NYC? I would love to meet you guys!
Loking forward to see you guys on your cat like Riley LOL. That's legit.
riley is probably busting his guts laughing. that was some good stuff.
Great vlog Riley. a 5x Outremer must be awesome to sail. Would you give your thoughts on it in a future vlog. It looks as though you will have at least some wind. Love you guys

Great vid new to your channel looks like it hard work but fun thank y’all for experience
Awesome video you guys !!!!
I knew right away that it wasn't Riley......Too short. Enjoyed the vid.
Is it Beaufort, South Carolina?
That's a big Catamaran! Would love a tour.
OMG I can't stop laughing...Thanks for the video!
My dream boat! The French Connection 😀
I think this the first time we can understand what old crocodile Dundee is saying.
You look awful comfortable on that boat though Best of time always
your coming up into my life Keep going up the hudson and come to Lake Champlain
Loved it!!!
Love Atlantic Beach & Beaufort NC, I have several friends there
All have boats, motorboats 🚤 though.
My guess is that the Marina's "niceness" may have been a function of the dollar value of the fuel they just bought.
How much fuel did you use Florida to Beaufort........ kinda important info !!!!!!!
Awesome Riles impersonation. Maybe they will do a Dan impersonation>
We love our air con on our catamaran. It runs off the batteries ..no marinas for us
Argh, we're in NY and would TOTALLY have hosted you guys for a few days!
Oh, and our fake Ozzy accents would have given you a run for your money :)
Beaufort, :) pronounced With B and say u and fert. LOL It is a southern thing! Safe sailing!!
No, It is Bow-furt, NC and Bewfert, SC. Both spelled Beaufort. The SC one is sorta between Edisto and Hilton Head. And for God's sake don't pronounce either one like the other when you are in one or the other! The locals will NOT be happy with you.
Mind your head? Kika, it's a camera.
You need Rileys Laugh if your even gonna get close!! " its a SQUALL!"
Great video, how did you find the B&G kit? We're trying to decide which ecosystem to embrace - Raymarine or B&G
to me....a YT sailor who has 0000000.0 on his sailing odometer....a mono is like flying economy and a cat is like business.
but i still think i'd prefer the mono. especially your mono.
riley's accent seemed to drift from aussie to jamaican. :)
nice episode....thnx.
How does a "square topped" mainsail work vs. a backstay? What's done to make that clear tacking?
Cat's don't have backstays.
The only thing this was, was a low-blow to the patreons for 1) not forking enough cash over so that you can buy an outremer and 2) no meet up in New York!

And if sailing a cat gets to be too boring, the crew can always play baseball. . . indoors!
Perfect Trawler weather.
Cape lookout not hatterass on the nav. Let us know if you ever stop in Oriental NC at port
Great Episode guys! How do you like the Otremere Catamaran? And like everyone else so enjoyed the SLV bit.. super fun.. love you guys!
Good boat. Wished we sailed more... Maybe next time.
