This is helped me so much. I did it your way except I took off air intake manifold which gives me lots more room to work. Got a new module at junkyard put it in just fine then went for a drive and radiator fluid was gushing out lol. took it all apart again and the junkyard module was broken on the bottom under the seal. Now ordering a brand new one. But this really helped so much with the wire that goes through the middle. Cause at junkyard I hard to completely remove the wire and that was a total pain. thank you for uploading.

Remove the air intake. It’s worth the effort, it makes it much easier.

That gasket will not hold up under pressure. That bolt will have to be removed. There are reverse drive sets at harbor freight that should help to get that bolt out. Ik that sux majorly.

The back screw is curved and won’t come out. What should I do?

Is that the dual overhead cam dohc motor? I have a 96 Ford explorer 4.0 and you do not have the same parts set up or thermostat housing that is on mine

While you are in there, you should have replaced that plastic Thermostat housing GARBAGE with an Aluminum one! makes this process no longer happen

Makes ya wonder why on earth do car manufacturers put plastic parts around hot engine parts. Surely they know those will eventually crack. Wish the car places would make them with metal parts to last longer from the get go.

@@Sunsetschano we ALL know why they do that, so that things break and they can make a killing in resale money on the aftermarket selling more plastic BS items that cost them nothing to make.
