How She Paid Off $460,000 in Debt
Today, I’m talking with the amazing Jade Warshaw. Not only is she a fellow Ramsey Personality, but she’s also a multi-talented cruise ship singer, yacht-rock lover, plant-based chef, motivational speaker, and debt-payoff expert. In this video, you'll hear Jade’s incredible story of paying off almost half a million dollars in consumer debt and how you can achieve your own total money makeover.

I love this show! My goal is to clear all credit card debt in the next 6 months. We are getting closer.
@courtneymata
Courtney! You're the winner of the 2024 Ramsey Goal Planner! I'll send you a DM for details. Congrats!
It's payoff time! Wanted to check in to make sure you didn't forget your goal!
Congratulations!!! It’s been six months 🎉🎊
My wife and I have been hustling to pay off nearly 110k in student loans, and we are ONE MONTH AWAY from being COMPLETELY DEBT FREE!
Rooting for you. You're almost there.
Amazing!
I could cry for you, that’s so happy! Coming from someone who is one month in on baby step 2
@@emmer54321 you've GOT THIS. :D
Congratulations. How long did it take you!
We paid off 416,000 Costco hotdogs ($624,000). Liberating to be debt free!
😮mind blowing
Every time I feel down in the dumps, scared to death and intensely worried and anxious about getting on my feet and paying off my debt, you guys make me feel like I can do it. Thanks.
You can. And it is so worth it.
You are awesome 😎 Fight for future you and fight for the life you want. You got this! Half the fight was starting it and the other half is finishing it so you are halfway there.
You can do this!!
I always listen to Jade. The girl has actually walked the walk.
Exactly!!! Her & George are the most relatable!
Are you saying Dave didn't?
@@tianamarie989 Dave definitely has walked the walk and he is wiser for it, but he's also been rich for decades and he struggled in a different era so sometimes he does appear a bit out of touch with current issues people face. George and Jade are more relatable to young professionals working on their finances in today's world
No she’s just saying she identifies with Jade more than Dave. She has more in common with Jade than with Dave
@@tianamarie989literally, Dave wasn’t mentioned.
Family of 5, Sahm and homeschooling momma here! We went from 72k in cc debt to 18k. Still alot to go but side hustles work and I’m able to raise my kids!
Good luck everyone. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm a SAHM too and I'm trying to figure out side hustle ideas. Would you mind sharing what were the best side hustles you did?
I how would like to know how you’re able to do that. I’m a SAHM of 6 and I would love to get some extra income to lighten the load.
@@khadishamalcolm8018 same! I also would love to know. I have a small jam business but it doesn't make very much and I put a lot of work into it.
I just can't comprehend picking up side hustles with a wife that works nights, and 3 kids too young to leave at home, and no family around to watch them.
Invest. Invest. Invest.
Jade is GOALS. Not only is she hugely inspirational, but she taught me that you can look both badass and professional simultaneously while wearing a Janet Jackson t shirt.
I had $124k in debt - $118k student loan debt and $6k in credit card debt. In 11 months, I paid off $13k in the debt. My goal is to pay off the rest of the debt ($111k) in 4.3 years.
You’ve got this 💪
Is that from moving in with a relative where you didn't have to pay rent? Or income?
@@Heyu7her3 part of why I live where I live is because as a part of the management staff at the property, I get a 40% discount on rent. I got a 3 bed 2 bath and then got two roommates and now I pay very little for rent. It's allowed me to pay off about $2,000 dependent on my monthly bonus (based on apartment occupancy). If you are not married to your career you may consider making that your situation--if you're single that is.
Its taken me over 6 years to pay over 20,000 in debt from when i was married. I have 10,000 left. I have a much better job now and i work as often as I can. I will be all done next December.
Jade did an AMAZING JOB weaving in the song lyrics into her story. So seamless!
We are debt free except for the house, and that will be paid off in 2 years! Zero stress about infaltion, or having to pay for our daughters wedding! If we can do it, so can you! We are just normal people who made a life style adjustment to live under our means. Just keep your eyes on the prize. And how cool to hear these real success stories. Hopefully if keeps you motivated to keep going!!
You are blessed; but you have 2 incomes!
Congratulations 🎉
How much was the home?
I subscribed because of Jade's Mr T impression.
I mean no disrespect when I say this about anybody on the show but Jade is by far the best Ramsey personality and that includes Dave. I am so happy they decided to hire her
Our goals for 2024 listed below:
1. Pay off all $15k of credit card debt
2. Budget for my wife's required surgeries following the birth of our 3rd kid this past July 23'.
3. Begin paying off Student debt.
This was an awesome episode and really looking forward to more like this.
Just think if you lived outside USA you wouldn't have to worry about the medical bills or a big student debt
It's the American system that's the problem for those 2 debts
@ykook7000 but it's not as great as it seems. They are alot of issues financially everywhere. The global healthcare system is suffering.
You can do it!! We're rooting for you 🎉
@@ykook7000 You might want to recheck those medical programs. As far as I've been able to check (can't check all countries) but I know places like England are in the red.
@@ykook7000Isn't it sad to hear these stories? My son has a genetic condition; if we lived outside Canada, noone would insure him. He receives excellent care. Insurance companies in other countries spread a lot of misinformation about our healthcare system. I also graduated university with zero debt just by maintaining good grades, because my university forgave tuition if one maintained a good GPA. I didn't even have to apply. We are so lucky here.
We paid off $30k and now just owe on our mortgage 🙌 Loved hearing Jade's story!
I don’t have instagram!
But my goal for 2024 is to be debt free $78k to go, and $6k paid off.
Same amount for me! We got this!
Jade is definitely the best addition to the show in my opinion. She connects to folks the rest of the cast might not be able to and calls people on their bs like a new era dave(i mean that as a compliment)
Jade has the best style in the Ramsey team! Change my mind!
I bought a used car and put $6,000 down (with the help of my brother and dad) and still owed about $11,000.
I thought it was normal to have a car payment and I expected to pay it off in 5 years.
My boyfriend encouraged me to pay it off as soon as possible. I ended paying off the car 18 months into the car loan and I am debt free!!!
Anyone can do it. I put every penny toward my car for only about 6-7 months before I paid it off.
If you put every penny into your car payment, then that sounds like you didn't pay rent, bills, for groceries?
@@Heyu7her3I’m sure they budgeted for their basic necessities. Their comment isn’t supposed to be taken in literal terms. It’s another way of them saying they were intensely paying off debt.
Finally!!!! Someone with > 6 figures of debt (other than a mortgage)! I went to grad school and work in the medical field so now I have soooo much student loans. People with under $50K of debt ARE NOT relatable to me. So thank youuuuuu!!!!
Check out public service loan forgiveness to see if you qualify!
They're clearly beneath u
Is your salary commiserate with the degree?
I’m here for it, too! These doctorate degrees carry a huge debt and no one gets it but the next person who is in the same situation. We are going to be okay, Doc. I just know it.
I only have 29,000 and I get anxiety I can’t imagen someone with 100,000
I’m a single mama of 3 who just finished BS2 and half way through BS3, I plan on getting about $30,000 as a down payment for a house for me and my kids
I like the phrase, "financial hygiene."
Jade has quickly become my favorite personality...I really like when she's on the show.
I just graduated PT school and my goal for 2024 is to ANNIHILATE my student loan debt. I think I can feasible do it in 4 years or less. 200k. so a quarter of the way would be huge
Wow! Assuming you mean physical therapy school, that's a tough income to debt ratio. Kudos to you for making your budget to do that!
This interview has put a lot of perspective into my debt pay off journey- house 105 k, car 9k, irs-25k, cc- 4500. I have got to grind it out to ?3 yrs- need to sit n crunch numbers on a 70k salary🤔🤔🤔
Saying "NEVER file bankruptcy" is potentially just as damaging as saying "Bankruptcy should be your first step to being debt free". There are circumstances where bankruptcy is your best option. You need to do some real soul searching and financial reviews first, but never say never. I was at a point in my life where I was making $15/hr and I had a wage garnishment of 25% of my pay. Bankruptcy saved my life. Yes, that is extreme. But Bankruptcy is for extreme situations. "NEVER file bankruptcy" is also extreme.
Exactly! The rich do it all the time.
Now, we understand why the regime tolerates goofy, evangelical Ramsey because he doesn't mess with their money.
$280k of her / her husband's debt was student loans, not bankruptable.
I'm glad to finally hear more detail on Jade's story. This tells me no matter what your income and debt, it can be paid off.
I graduated from college four months ago and paid off 12k out of 27k of student loans in the last 3 months. My goal is to have them paid off in another 5 months or less.
Proud of you. Good job❤
paid off $108,000 debt in 3 years using the Baby Steps. I'm almost done with BS3 and looking forward to starting BS4. All I have is my mortgage, but I will be starting to attack that in a few months. Being debt free is amazing!!!
March is my last month! I will be able to apply for Public Service Loan Forgiveness for $285K! To God be the glory!
Jade is so cool! So glad she joined the team
I love Jade & George together! They genuinely like each other & you can tell. Definitely my favorite duo!
I so love Jade! And I really like when her and George are a duo. And even when she’s with Dave. It’s like Dave gets into his entertaining mood. Jade has an amazing personality and she seems to bring out the personality in everyone else. I love the humor across them all when listening to the Podcast.
💯 I agree! She makes the show more fun to watch.
"Utilize every hour of every day to be productive." Great Quote to you Jade God Bless You and George!
Honestly, Jade's story is so inspirational because I can see myself in her old money habits and lifestyle! To see that she "made it" and paid it off gives me hope that I can do too!! 🎉
Yes, hard work pays off and it takes tons of hard work to pay off debt. BUT, making $200,000 a year is not attainable for a lot of couples. I think that part of the situation should have been talked about more!!!
Good to know because I actually thought they paid it off on 36,000 - could not understand how that would be possible
True true... But most couples also don't have $400k in non-mortgage loans.
But getting an almost 100k income between two incomes and one person with side hustles (and the other at home for the kiddos) is very possible. Depends on the region of course, but given $40k each and then a 10k side hustle l, you can do it.
Pay off my student loan debt! 18k! Love you two and the encouragement y’all give ❤❤
I like the games for the guest during the interview. Keeps people engage. 👍🏽
Thank you so much for this, George and Jade! I have about $260k of debt, of which $149k is student loan debt. I was really discouraged, at the age of 54, trying to figure out how I wanted to get out of this debt. I have started a small side hustle, and I plan to add a little more in the near future and I am just going to work really hard to pay all this debt down. If Jade and her husband did it in just 7 years, I have nothing but possibilities!! Thank so much again because I finally feel encouraged about actually being debt free!!!
I've been diligently working, saving, and investing toward financial independence and early retirement, but the economy since the pandemic has eaten up the majority of my $3 million portfolio. I want to know: Do I keep contributing to my portfolio in these unstable markets, or do I look into alternative sectors?
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financial future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?
Thanks for sharing, I just looked her up on the web and I would say she really has an impressive background in investing. I will write her an e-mail shortly.
Scam
Awesome show you two!! I was so sad because my whole check is going to pay off a debt I owe! Thank you both for lifting my spirits! This to shall past. ❤❤❤❤
It is so inspiring to read all the other comments from people who have paid/are paying off huge amounts of debt. It can be done!
We need more interviews like this! So fun to watch 😍😍
Love Jade! She is so smart, real and inspirational
Great job Jade & George👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great channel, awesome interview with the amazing Jade Warshaw. My hubby heard it with me and was inspired to get back on track! Thanks y'all!
Love Jades Story (watched many times!👏), Her Enthusiasm & Plant based ways! 🎊
Jade gives me so much encouragement!
Love the word game! And Jade's story is so inspiring. How did her and her husband eventually make over $250,000 a year??? That is a lot!
That's the part that actually matters...
Seems like they scaled their skills and probably created businesses out of them where they figured out optimizing how much they have to pay in taxes.
But honestly the fact that they got there doesn’t change the fact that’s not where they started and they figured out a way to use what they have skill wise to make as much extra money as possible
@@Heyu7her3They have talked about this numerous times. Sam sold Jordans & ALL of her side hustles combined plus saving every penny
Music lessons can easily be $50 per half hour lesson, depends on the city of course. So if she was able to find enough students, and her husband did too, that income is very believable.
I thank God for Ramsey Solutions and for the information and entertainment that ya'll provide. You two are my favorite people on the shows. This episode is a great example of why you guys are so good at what you do (including the producers, editors, and other folks behind the scenes). Hilarious, informative and able to make the information that you talk about all the time interesting so that it can really get soaked into those of us that so desperately need it. Thank you!!
This show is awesome. I stumbled up on it and subscribed before the end of the episode. I don’t think I’ve ever subscribed to a channel that fast. Great work George and team!
I have two debts remaining on two rental properties. Totals about $92,000. Hoping to finish it off by the end of 2024!
Jade, you are awesome and your story is so inspirational. Great hire to the Ramsey team!
What a great episode! Thank you both. I would love to know how Jade went from doing her debt free scream to being a Ramsey personality on the show.
Now this is FUN and informative 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Love both George and Jade. They seem like such grounded and nice people.
Great show !! 🎉 I love all you guys especially the “GOAT” Mr Ramsey !! You’ve turned my life around and I’m eternally great full thankyou so much !!
My husband and I have been working at being debt free for a few years now and we have decided to go intense on getting our house paid off!! We are completely living off of my income, which is significantly lower than my husband's. We will be done by August 2024! 2024 is the year of total freedom for us!
Respect for her being vulnerable here
I’m 25 and I’m 9 months away from paying off $52,000 in student loans in 18 months. Halfway there and it’s still ridiculously hard sticking to the plan I made in 2023, but I’m still right on track & I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks for the continued motivation, George
Jade is my inspiration. With
Your RUclips channel is so entertaining!! I love the small clips 🤣
Great content George , keep up the great stuff! My wife and I are almost finished with step 6 at 24!
Impressive.... congratulations for setting a great example!
Great to see Jade here. Looking forward to grow my business and start a YT channel to help others with taxes
Her energy made me take notes 📝 no bs.
I’m just getting started with almost $489,000 of debts which includes student loans, mortgage and credit cards. I’ve paid off two credit cards. I’m 57 and don’t want to be 80 still in debt. It was good to hear someone else with a huge amount and see how it was possible for them to do in 7 years. Awesome 👏🏾 My goal is 5-7 years too. Enjoyed your show, continue to spread your knowledge and advice. Thanks Evonne
FINALLY! A story with a relatable debt. My wife and dont have quite that much but every time i hear people complaining about student debt its 1/4 of ours and ive been so confused how theirs is seen as the norm and i knew it wasnt. Thank you to you and the comments for the validation we arent alone in this fight.
I love Jade! Beautiful, smart, a great asset to the channel & a great example of how to get 'er done!!
Excellent video 🔥🔥
Finally done with debt minus my house this week. Now working emergency fund in my high yield saving account and investing. The stress relief is amazing. Next year I will be able to work on paying off my house and saving for my kids future college expenses.
Great story. I’d stop watching Dave; however, with the addition of Jade, which I stumbled upon, I started back.
Keep pushing everyone!
You guys ARE GREAT!!!!!
George is so brilliant with how this is organized and so fun. Love Jade too. So glad I got a chance to hear her story and I LOVE GEORGES BOOK!! Top 10 one of my fav books
Hate that I’m late to get this planner. Getting it
OMG first time watching your show and i subscribed just off your intro my guy you are hilarious and smart. I loved this interview with Jade soooo much. Thanks.
Great show!!!
I love Jade! Her story is so inspirational. Phenomenal woman- a formidable force!!
Yes. Would love a planner.
Life has humbled me in the Hardest way in 2022. Last september i reached BS3 for the first time in my life although i was budgeting since 2017. I bragged about it, felt like the world was at my feet. Then i got fired 2 months later that same November (lost the yearly benefit + 1month worth of overtime ), paying for most of a medical bills for a surgery, 1 month without pay and a car accident. Then got a better paying job, had to moove and furnishing the entire place! So my 2024 target is to go hit BS3 again in hopes to reach BS3b, one day 😅
Another awesome video! So happy for you Jade and your husband paying off all your debt! My husband and I paid two houses off early. We paid off our current home in less than three years! Our total debt is $5,700 and then we'll be debt free! We're millionaires as well and will be retiring in the next couple of years. We're proud of how hard we have worked and are looking forward to retirement. Even with inflation and recessions, the American dream is out there for those who work hard and use their money wisely.
on baby step 1, when i feel like im going to fall off, you guys put me back on track
my goal this year was to pay off my $12k in credit card debt, only $2900 left and that’ll be paid off by end of November! my goals for 2024 are to have a 6 month emergency fund and start contributing to retirement.
This is good! No out of state tuition for us! Love this girl
Love ❤ the bookcase.
Jade always got the fire kicks on 🔥
Solid work. Impressive
Great episode!! My goal for 2024 is to set a tight budget and pay $1500 a month toward student loans.
I started baby steps January 2023! I sold my $57,000 Jeep and bought a beater car. Unfortunately, the car was a lemon and ended up costing me a lot in repairs but I can now keep it for the next 5 to 10 years with the new engine I had to replace! I still have no car payments nor credit cards! I am going to tackle my student loan debt and in 5 years, I’ll be on that debt free scream stage!!!!❤
I love this you two ♥️
What an inspiration!!
2024 is going to be a big year for us! Our first large chunk will be paid off in November (only took 6 months to pay it off once we got serious!) then the majority of our debt will be tackled in the coming year. Looking at the end of 2024/Early 2025 to be done. I love watching you guys and hearing success stories! I don’t have an IG. But Good Luck to whoever wins! ❤️

We just started our journey to being debt free. We are a household of 8 with 2 children in college. We’re on BS2. This is our 2nd month of budgeting so still figuring it out 😅. Goals in 2024 are to stay under budget and get that snowball rolling. Thanks you Jade and George for your examples and hard work!
Another great video. Wishing g you had prizes for people who aren't on I stagram. I took most social media platforms off my phone. I only let myself keep access to RUclips so I can still follow my favorite debt & frugal living shows.
My goal for 2024 is to pay off my house. I took a second job to boost our income further and we increased our income 50% to over 6 figures these last 2 years. I hope this is encouraging to others to pay off their houses too. Our house will be paid off in 6 years as of next year when we send the final payment.
That is incredible!!!!!
Caleb hammer would scream with those music degrees! lol thanks for the transparency.
I love Caleb Hammer. I watch him all the time. 😊 I love his videos and how he tells people how stupid their purchases are. He’s awesome.
... Caleb hammer has a music degree...?
@@kailaleebabineau3962does he forreal?
Yea he has a music degree and knows people with music degrees get into the worse student lines with no return in investment (return in investment meaning how much you get paid from your job after graduating). That’s why he hates degrees that you can’t even get a good job for.
My goal for 2024 is to finish my cybersecurity degree debt free! Love this videos
My goal for 2024 is to be debt free, to comfortably start our family. And have a stress free maternity leave. We are watching all the way from the UK. Xx

The problem is bankruptcy doesn't change behavior. Whatever got you into financial doo-doo will still be there after your debts are discharged and will probably happen again.
