    In over half of cases in Kentucky, people cannot afford to pay their bail. Black Kentuckians are jailed at a much higher rate than white Kentuckians.
    The number of children in Kentucky with a parent in jail is four times the national average. Over two-thirds of the women incarcerated in Kentucky have children.
    The Bail Project is a nonprofit that pays bail
    and provides support to people for free. No one should be held in jail before trial
