Really nice route, thanks for sharing!! Blew my mind when I found out those Regent Park villas were built 1988-2004 and designed by Quinlan Terry -- totally surreal but at the same time very much of our times 🏡💸 One time I broke my cycle bell through overuse on that stretch of towpath 😅🚲
Excellent thank you - very pleased to see a route into Marylebone which I use when down south with family. It's otherwise surprisingly poor for cycling particularly heading south over the Marylebone Road. It's a while since I've done it so maybe better now - but basically no protection in the area. Seymour Place just about OK. C27 over Crawford St likewise. As for actually getting to the other side of the Marylebone Road you could walk and use the pedestrian lights at Balcombe St. All very sub-optimal!
A route I struggled with was from Victoria to Marylebone station, which I sometimes needed to do. Any chance of you covering that? Thanks, and I love the videos!
Surprisingly tricky for now but I’m gonna see what I can do as it’s an important link. Am hoping for some improvements by Westminster in that part of town this year
Another great video! Just a quick bit of trivia, the Snowdon Aviary that you passed by at London Zoo is not a home for birds any longer, it's been transformed into Monkey Valley and is home to the zoo's Eastern Black and White Colobos Monkeys.
This part of the Canal Towpath at Lisson Grove seems to be closed off now (temporarily). Just an FYI for anyone (like me) who tried to copy this route.
I noticed the London Cycle Routes map was last published in July 2022. Is there plans to add all your newer videos? Otherwise, I'm happy to add to it and keep it up to date going forward. If you'd like that, just let me know your email I can send the link to. Love what you're doing with your videos
Thanks that’s very generous - someone else has offered too but I’m trying to get hold of the guy who did it originally to ask as he has the editing permissions
@@Londoncycleroutes I tried replying before that I had gone ahead and updated the map for my own use and added the link to it but I think RUclips deleted it since it had a URL
Love your videos. But…. I get a dizzy when the camera is mounted on the handlebars and the video is speeded up. I wonder if you could mount the camera on the frame somewhere rather than handlebars.
Ahh sorry to hear that! To be honest I think it’s unlikely that I’ll change he camera position for various reasons - you could try tweaking the speed in RUclips playback and see if that helps?
The Haverstock Hill cycle lane isn't amazing, but it's not the widest of roads and there's not much they can do re. buses, IMO. It's a good compromise - maybe better/denser protection needed in some places.
@London cycle routes yeah, that would be great did you see they are also adding a 5 second head stary to bikes at the intersection between belsize road and abbey road?
Looks like it might have been to do with some work on the bridge rather than a permanent thing. I didn’t see it to be honest, though it seems a bit pointless anyway
yes in theory, though the issue would be getting to it - e.g. parkway junction in Camden is a bit dodgy. but if that got sorted it could be a much better way (as was the plan with cycle superhighway 11)
The route I take is Princess Road (Contraflow), St Mark's Square, walk across the bridge, cycle down the Broad Walk, Inner Circle to York Bridge. The difficult bit would be getting from the Outer Circle down to Melcombe Street.
It’s quite common with the very top end expensive housing in London where it’s either owned by someone with multiple homes or being used as an asset to store plundered wealth
Nice video, i enjoyed the facts you always research in these videos!
Can we expect a Q&A when you hit 10K subscribers?
Maybe, if there’s demand for one!
Nice one! Great to see improving cycling infrastructure in London, hope they keep it up!
There a lot in the pipe line! Wish they’d go a bit faster
@@Londoncycleroutes Me too! At least progress is noticeable and more people are using the infrastructure now.
Really cozy route! thanks for the video!
Cosy is right!
Nice route! 👍 🙂
Thanks.

I had no idea about that! very interesting fact

yes I agree... those are the ways I used to go around there. best of the bunch but really not great!
One day London will turn into Utrecht... one day
Haha fingers crossed

That is great info! I should have known that as I’ve been to ZSL but clearly I wasn’t paying attention hah
Fantastic
Thanks for watching!
🤙🏼 *Towpaths scare me* 😂🤙🏼
Scared I'll lose a bike/board
I totally understand haha
Nice route. Any chance of a Colindale or Hendon or Edgware to the City video, please?
tricky part of town I'll make a note and see what I can do - I think there may be some improvements coming soon!
Thanks! Improvements? Really? Any info/link, please?

They could do bus boarders like on the uphill (they take up no extra space) but I think they’re worried about people going fast downhill
The canal is ok, but it can get very crowded on a nice day
it is much better than the high speed road parallel to it tho
Hopefully Camden will put hurry up with the planned cycle tracks on Prince Albert road!
@London cycle routes yeah, that would be great
did you see they are also adding a 5 second head stary to bikes at the intersection between belsize road and abbey road?
at 4:49 there is a cyclist dismount sign, why? also why did you not dismount?
Looks like it might have been to do with some work on the bridge rather than a permanent thing. I didn’t see it to be honest, though it seems a bit pointless anyway
if the Regent's park outer-circle was closed to through traffic (a man can dream!) would you route along there rather than the canal?
yes in theory, though the issue would be getting to it - e.g. parkway junction in Camden is a bit dodgy. but if that got sorted it could be a much better way (as was the plan with cycle superhighway 11)
Which camera are you using?
GoPro Hero 11 black!
I keep reporting the mis-use of the "loading bay". Although I get positive messages from the council, I'm not seeing any action.
It seems so difficult to police, you'd really have to have someone there 24/7 surely
Easily enough space along the A5205 for a protected cycle lane - hopefully there will be some political leadership to make that happen!
definitely hope so
What would the allternative be to not using the Regents Canal towpath?
Regent’s Park outer circle and the a weave around various roads near baker streets I think, none particularly quiet
The route I take is Princess Road (Contraflow), St Mark's Square, walk across the bridge, cycle down the Broad Walk, Inner Circle to York Bridge. The difficult bit would be getting from the Outer Circle down to Melcombe Street.
Nice route!
However, the path via Regent's canal seems a bit slippery.
It was on that day as it was icy! (Most roads where haha)
@@Londoncycleroutes As I do not know how to swim, looking at the Regent's canal makes me a bit nervy. Ha ha.
At 3:34 it's a shame about the pedestrians walking in the cycle lane......
it was a bit annoying but it can be tricky with a buggy so I will let them off! especially as the pavement was closed
The begging is nauseating... like clockwork, in every video, multiple times: like me! subscribe! comment! Sheesh... I'm over it.
Thanks for commenting :)
Villas not being used? Bombed out Ukrainians? Hmm.
Thanks for another interesting route.
