We’re gonna need him to start another game. And the way the rest of the game played out, pulling him was the perfect call from snit
Believe me I know how you feel - the bullpen and especially Will Smith have given me so many panic attacks and heart attacks this year... but I'm 100% positive the thought was that if there's a winner-take-all game 5, he'd be the one to go. 3 days' rest is always risky, but that's why they felt comfortable taking him out after 81 pitches and a 3-0 lead. Smith is always a blown save risk, but so far he hasn't given up 3+ ER's in the 9th. (knock on wood, formica, cardboard, hemp, and even tightly woven straw).
On that note, I would much rather either Luke Jackson or Matzek be our closer. At least they have that dominant closer "stuff." A dude with a beer belly that struggles w/ command, throws low-mid 90's on a good day, and hangs his one off speed pitch does NOT 'strike' fear into batters. I swear all of his saves are like this where he gets lucky or bailed out - like deep flyouts that just miss or like today where he's gifted a ground ball and they can turn a double play b/c he's ALWAYS in a jam with loads of traffic. lol

This brewers team is so inconsistent it’s infuriating
Is not inconsistently.Fried is bad man.Believe me from a dodgers fan.
It’s useless to have one of the best pitching staffs in the majors when you have an offense that would struggle against Little League pitching. These sorry Brewers so far in the playoffs have scored two runs in 18 innings. During the latter half of the season, they scored two runs in a total of 23 innings. So yeah, they’re very consistent...consistently terrible. I picked the Braves in four. I don’t see anything stopping that pick from happening.

Just wait until next year, when hopefully everyone's healthy again. You re-sign Soler and have him at the top of the lineup with Acuna; then Soroka comes back and you have him, Morton, & Fried pitching. This team will be a very good team, as long as everyone comes back healthy next year.

Brian Snitker is a fool for pulling him. He got so lucky the Braves won. Yes im a Braves fan but im so sick of seeing starters being pulled that early. I heard Snit made the decision because he thought about the night before when he left Morton in but it wasn't a valid comparison & game 1 had nothing to do with game 2. Fried has been better than Morton as of late & he gets better as the game progresses. The Braves bullpen is there weakness & have blown a lot of games so taking a pitcher that's dominating to bring in 3 more freaken different pitchers is insane. At some point the Braves starters have got to demand the ball. Yes I like Snit overall but these dumb decisions can not happen in the playoffs. They will catch up to you.
