I’m not a person who has any sort of religion or who cares very much about any of that. But how can anyone argue the beauty of Rosaries? So much energy in those. Wow. Such a gorgeous haul 😮
Hello! Thank you for watching! I definitely have one more batch to show, but I am not sure whether to post that here or on my antique collectible channel. I will sure to update! Either way, do stay tuned for another video on antique rosaries!
The Rosaries are beautiful, my Aunt had one like the third one you showed. I remember as a child and still as an adult watching her say the Rosary. It gave me such a sense of peace and love, to see and watch her slide her Rosary through her hands. Witnesses her belief. When my son was hurt, she came and sat with me at the hospital and her Rosary was for? (if that is the correct term, )Our Lady of Healing. I remember the sense of calm she gave me sitting with me, with her Rosary, not talking, I finally stopped crying.I do not remember the name of the Lady of Healing. Thank you for this video and the memories it brought me.
💜 There is much to be said about the act of "praying". From a cognitive point of view, from an emotional point of view. I believe in God, but I also believe in not only a more abstract understanding of the word, but also the reality of the human mind, which can do miraculous things! Your description of your aunt, in the hospital, the effect that had on you, all these brought my mind to run around with various theories about what "prayer" really is. Well, psychologically speaking I mean. The beauty of Faith is that it just is, isn't it. There is where the magic happens perhaps. Much blessing to you!
Lovely haul! I had a collection of rosaries when I was a child, from family and gifts, but unfortunately don't have them anymore. Love the one with Saint Francis. He has always been very special for me.
Julianne Victoria, Through the Peacock's Eyes I have three rosaries which have somehow because lost to me which are very special to me. In a way, my rosary collection is my way of desperately making up for what have been lost.....
Totally not religious here, but no one can deny the beauty of these! It’s like the illuminated holy books too. I think the church was lucky to exist in a time when art really began to flourish. Defo not the era of cave paintings ☺️
Forgetting torture and quartering I think it is an amazing age indeed! :P I should show you Visconti's Book of Time..... Not a very good edition I feel but it gives us a glimpse to this glorious art....
Nobody Here ohhhhhhh I’m intrigued! This was quite a synchronistic video, as I was in fact looking up mala beads today and began to wonder if the idea between Hindu/Buddhist beads influenced the use of rosary later on!🤔🧐🧐🧐🧐☺️
Brush Stroke Tarocchi Go google Pater Noster beads and you will see how earlier rosaries from the 15th and 16th century looks very much like other types of prayer beads :)
Very nice! I've been buying religious jewelry (rosaries, medals, etc) in auction lots lately and see there is much to learn (for me) as far as identifying various pieces. I like buying lots because I enjoy sifting thru my "treasures". I have a 24 lb lot coming next week!
@@NobodyHere Going thru some now.. always discover something different. This last (7 lb) lot had a lot of Fatima related and Papal items and I'm taking some photos. One favorite piece I have is a sterling single decade rosary bracelet with double end cap iridescent crystal beads on a ladder chain with a cross and medal. I'm on Facebook. Feel free to friend me.
I didn’t buy these in bulk but purchase them one by one from someone who was selling her entire collection. More on my other channel which I have moved some of my videos to: TWO MICE ON MY BOOKSHELF is the name of the channel. Feel free to post more questions in my rosary collection video there.
Noooooo........ I found out about the Sisters of Carmel from a Witch. (I found that term is very loaded in the Western world, unlike in the culture I grew up in, but the term Witch is an English one, and is very narrow compared to the term(s) we have in my heritage). The Sisters can sell their rosaries to anyone they want. That is who they are making a living while they are doing God's work. I will support them always.
These are beautiful. I especially find the shade of blue on the forth set really calming, perhaps because I associate the colour with Mary. The rosary beads I received on my first Holy Communion were taken by a crow in the garden the day after 😅
Oh what a poetic disaster! LOL Yes the pale blue is very calming and gentle to behold. It is the larger of the two gifts, the other one smaller and pink :) I desperately want to find my first red crystal rosary which my late grand father bought me in Lourdes when I was about 4 years old. I think it has been lost during a robbery of our storage space many years ago. (I mean why would anyone take a rosary....). The other is one of my Dad's for his baptism before he married my Catholic mother. This is before Vatican Council II where you have to be Catholic to marry one! All I remember was that it was made of a very dark wood which I think might be ebony.... (Not sure). The third one I can't find is one I bought in the Philippines... Moving around and collecting do NOT go hand in hand......
I am fortunate to still have and use my First Holy Communion rosary, received on 8 May 1966, which that year was also Mother's Day, so that made it special in another way. It is very precious to me. I wonder how many others in my class kept their Rosaries. I suspect not very many.
Wow....Where did you find these? I have been trying to find that perfect rosary for me on ebay and they charge a lot for anything nice i find. Do you sell rosarys as well?

Last time I checked, they were not. They are connected to the Servants of the Holy Family, who are not. Nevertheless, I have purchased a crucifix and calendar from them in the past. I was a little disturbed to hear the poster of the video say the Sisters of Carmel are connected to a practicing witch on Facebook. What ?!! That's a pretty serious accusation to casually and publicly make, without any follow up to substantiate the claim.
I carry a virgin mother double sided medallion everyday in my pocket. Made out silver. I have a very strong connection to it. I sleep with it under my pillow. Ever since the day i have retrieved it an took owner ship, i have had no nightmares or bad dreams. Couple days ago, i started to look for my first rosary. I looked on ebay an etsy. But have not found the RIGHT one yet. I want the material to be made out of silver. What is a correct rosary to own?. Does it have to have Jesus an mary on it ?. Please explain. I am catholic. But i did not go through the pathway like a devoted catholic would have.
Hello. I grew up Catholic. But my theology is perhaps more Protestant. Not sure. My spiritual heritage is eclectic, and my social outlook is liberal. So. In keeping with those values and my own belief, I will say that there IS NO RIGHT ROSARY to have. They are only tools. Although I know some of my Catholic family members tend to treat time like amulets and magical items. WHAT WORKS for you is the right one. I do not like the Jesus Corpus on the cross, but it can't be avoided since that is the norm. My reason? He has risen, has he not? That is the focus of the faith, is it not? I will not forget the pain, the sacrifice, I don't need the body hanging there in perpetuity. It is more powerful for me to see an empty cross. What material? Whichever is nice to hold for me, in the eyes and in the hands. Whatever is easier to maintain. Whatever is longer lasting. More robust. You may have a different requirement depending on how you use them. I do not carry them around for example. But it sounds like you do. Do you need Mary? Again, up to you. As mentioned my theology is not very Catholic, so I am not very Mary centred. The rosary is often dedicated to her, so often she is at the centre of the Rosary. But although I do the traditional Hail Mary 10 times before the 1 Our Father, I prefer not to have her either, perhaps other things like the Sacred Heart in the middle, or other reminders. I am planning on talking more about the rosaries, but I have yet to decide if I am going to do so here, or on my other channel called Two Mice on My Bookshelf. Thanks for asking and for watching.
