- Hey,
Come for a walk around my new favourite area of Bangkok, TALAT NOI (or Talad Noi).
This is an area in Thailand's capital you don't want to miss out on seeing.
Talat Noi is a historic area just outside of Chinatown (Yaowarat) with plenty of street food, and artsy cultural things to see including the Rong Kueak Shrine and abandoned car.
Anyways, Talat Noi... check it out!
Thanks for watching!

Im from the UK living in Thailand and thought that area was really good and interesting so ive no idea why you thought it was 'sick?' 🤔
I learned a lot about the area just wandering around and there was nothing sick about it. There are slums in Bangkok where sickness is a daily occurrence and terrible things happen but i never saw that in this area so im totally baffled by the thumbnail and title? 🤔🤔
😂😂 I was thinking exactly the same, I was expecting a really sad video of ill people in the slums.
American slang: "Sick" very good; excellent
"That's the sickest shit Ive ever seen!!!"
= "That's the coolest thing ive ever seen!!!"
I'm a local here and my understanding for the word 'sick' she mentioned is no other meaning but 'cool'. 😊
@@Kingxofyzer Ah American, that explains it 🤣🤣🤣 🤦 The country where words, meanings and biological reality go to die 👍😉
@@asiatravels007😂😂😂 Pretty much sums it up 🤣🥳
get google translate on your phone it can translate images
Yes! Such a great tool!
I love this area! One of my favorite cafes is there. I try to go at least once a month! ❤
It's so good! ❤️

Thats my after work viewing sorted

Great video Sarah 👍. I will be back in Bangkok next summer, can't wait 😀

Beautiful place to go to school!
This the only area where I always get lost
My favourite area BKK now!
I was just there for most of August. I hope you got a drink at the the chocolate shop- mine was terrific. Talat Noi was a tie for my favorite place, along with the floating market/canal areas just west across the river. Been really enjoying your channel since I found it. Enjoy.
Such an awesome area! I’d love to stay there next time I’m in BKK!
Yea once you get away from chinatown main street its way better, :)
Heaps better! 🇹🇭
13:40 that's the correct entrance to the upstairs cafe. Inside on your left, there's a stair. It's done like that on purpose.
Thanks! I’ll have to go back!
So how are yah feet holding up in them fancy Crocs ?
They are actually really comfy & added bonus being elevated I don’t have to worry about stepping in puddles in the rain. 😂
Hi
😊
dope in oz means dill, none too bright, drongo, so how do you apply that to the street art you enjoyed, confused me.
its also used as slang to mean cool or good
Yes, context is key. “That’s dope” = cool, good etc.
Although I’ve actually never heard it used in the way you’re describing, maybe it’s regional slang?
I’ve heard “dopey” for dumb/dull.
If you haven't already, check out Song Wat. Cool street.
Thank you! Next time I’m in BKK I will
Do!
@@unfilteredtraveldiaries I'm at 39 and counting! 🥳
Great Vlog. It is pronounced more "dalad noi" but the first D has a sharp T sound after it so westerners tend to say Talat noi. Dalad/talat however you want to say it means Market.
Thanks for the info! That makes sense! How’s things where you are with the flooding?
We are 40km from the flooding thankfully. Been to visit it. Its devastating @unfilteredtraveldiaries
Nice video😃
Thanks 😁
Cool vlog, I love the old architecture buildings and unique narraw streets! Been to Bangkol four times and didn't know about this place!
Yay! Thanks, definitely worth a visit next time!

Thanks so much ❤️
What a cool place to see, thanks for showing Sarah 🙂
Thank you ❤️
And get a crappy little 1 dollar compass. We use it all the time. And smart girl paying with small bills and always having them. Nice. You're a good solo traveller. I did what you're doing when i was like 20, all alone in Mobassa and places like that. I can see you're getting powerful and confident travelling alone. Go girl!
Sarah, nice job. We'll be in Bangkok in 2 weeks and will go on the Chao Phraya Express Boat. Never been on that. Looks like good vid content for ya! Do the ferry and we'll get your feedback.
My notes just copy pasted from my research for boat from Little India to China Town just north. Sorry, sloppy but to the point:
11 cny a stop. little india pier is 22. Si Phraya or 23. Oriental nxt south pier take it north to chinatown 20. pier is Ratchawongse
Anyhow, the ferry looks nice. In Bangkok you need some elbow room like parks and water.
