    I've transported my 1/250 wooden Titanic through several house moves in a way less secure way and it held up each time. 🙂 Magnificent work Ben.

    I commissioned Chuck Miller to build a large scale Constitution several years ago. He shipped it in a large plywood crate across country but it showed up all intact thankfully. Fun seeing how you prepped for transportation.

    Watching this series I kept wondering when the weathering was going on, only to immediately remind myself that this is the only model that will never need weathering.

      I mean, not true. If they asked for weathering, they could get it, though that would involve a bit more interior decorating and a lot of angry breaking of the ship in two...

    What would be really cool is if Trumpeter gives us Ranger CV4 in 1/200 scale. They already did all three Yorktown-class carriers in 1/200. The 1/350 Ranger depicts her in her 1944 Measure 33 dazzle scheme, but was previously in Measure 22, and in fact reverted back to 22 in 1945. She also briefly wore Measure 12 Mod early in 1942.

    Seems to be rumours getting round among model makers that Trumpeter are in process of designing 1/200 Britannic and Olympic, something to keep a ear to the ground in the future.

    I did wonder about the transportation idea you had for such a large and partially fragile scale model. I see you chose the "peace of mind" alternative and are delivering it yourself. I hope the drive time getting to wherever the model needs to go is not too long and you're not seeing US states you've never been to before.

    • @TheMidwestModelShop

      Well….. I don’t think there’s any state left in the union that I haven’t already seen, before. But I get what you mean 😉

    Loved your whole build series on the Titanic Ben. You probably said it somewhere along the way but does your client have a custom stand for the finished model? The one you’ve been using seems unfinished. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the carrier build!

    Hello! This is Michael @ GIOS TRAIN NETWORK…. I’ve spent the last two years building one of these… trying to decide what I would like to do with it… wife tells me not to sell it… if I were to sell it what should I ask for it? I like to think it’s just about as nice as yours… I appreciate the advise in advance.

    • @Anth230
      @Anth230 Год назад

      @@giostrainnetwork9267 Well I should think you could get at least twice what you paid for the model itself(including upgrade parts etc) But if your wife likes it and you seem to have the room for it. Just keep it.

      If you actually wanted one, you would already have a realistic idea of what it would cost. For example if you wanted a 2023 Mercedes GLE 350, you would not assume it was $100.

    Hi Ben, I have started using "clinch nuts" to attached my stands to my models. These give a reallly strong fixation to support the models for display or transport. They can also double as +/- power terminals if the model needs power for lights; ruclips.net/user/shortsvhYN6nQneBU
