🌊 loved this so much! Emily Henry is one of my favorite authors. Beach Read is one of my favorite books. I have noticed that people seem to like certain books of hers more than others. You may like People We Meet on Vacation better. 😊
I have heard that it would be more my style!!
I felt so many things throughout this book and I walked away feeling very impressed. I'm interested in reading her other books now.

As always I loved this vlog! I would love to see you read Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren! I was so anxious to start it as it is so hyped and it has a storyline that goes from the past to the present... But WOW, its one of my favorite love stories from 2022 and 2023! (PS your videos are wonderful and amazing 🌊🌊🌊)

I’ve still never read an Emily Henry 😬
🌊 I like Emily Henry but I think she's definitely overhyped. I gave Beach Read & Happy Place 3 Stars. I gave Book Lovers & People We Meet on Vacation 4 stars.
That order seems to check out!!

I'm so glad that I started "Beach Read", because I enjoyed that book (3,5 stars). Had I started with any of her other books, I 100% would've not continued picking them, because unfortunately, the Emily Henry reading experience has been going downhill for me. Granted her latest ("Happy Place") is the only one I haven't tried yet, but I'm just not... I just don't care anymore at this point, I guess.
Let's just say, for me, so far, it's a one-hit wonder, and I think all her books are over-hyped.

In her defense, I'm certain it's mostly my own fault. Enemies-to-lovers works the best for me (even when it's not really that, in this case). Like on paper I should've loved "Book Lovers" just as much, but I was mostly just bored through most of it.
I'm still trying to find a friends-to-lovers/second-chance romance that I've really, really liked. Except maybe "Final Offer" by Lauren Asher, but even then I'm pretty sure I enjoyed Rowan's and Declan's books better.
Oh! And to answer you're question. I can't remember how or why, but I went into it with a rather clear idea that it would be more women's fiction/contemporary with romance, than just a romance, so I think that tempered my expectations while reading it.
My favorite thing are definitely the banter - and both the drive-in scene, and the against the bookshelves thing.
Anyways!

This is her weakest book IMO. I think Book Lovers and PWMOV are much more fun and well developed
