A bit of both. One hint is, if you use social media, post about the type of work you WANT to attract. For example, If edge to edge is what you want, then post lots of photos/info about that and far less about custom work or about your piecing or your pets 😄
Hi Susan. Catching up on your videos! Live them. I’d love to see a video/discussion about loading a pieced backing on a longarm. Almost all the quilts I get have a pieced back. I’m doing ok with it but just wondering if you have any tips.
I recently did a LIVE & UNSCRIPTED that was a memory quilt with a multi-pieced backing. There are some good tips on there, even though the quilting didn't go terribly smoothly 😄. Here's the link: ruclips.net/user/liveIasf9IjuSm4?si=UFCXPSyMxBP4wFvh
For those on the fence, I highly recommend her course. There’s tons of great information 😁
How do you find or customers or how do they find you??

Just to clarify- I mean the backs that are put together with a dozen or so pieces of scrap fabric chained together

My challenge is the coordinated movement of my hands and foot/speed. It is the one area of quilting disappointment for me.
Practice, practice. It's much like riding the proverbial bicycle - you are definitely coordinating multiple movements.
