Amazing video. I have both a Pixel 6 and just bought a GoPro. I'm returning the GoPro. I think the video quality is as good on the Pixel 6 in nearly all conditions, or better. There also seem to be app bugs on the Pixel... videos only sync occasionally, or if I kill and restart the app. The GoPro accessory situation is frustrating. That USB to minijack adapter should work on the GoPro! Yes, in specific action scenarios the phone won't work - say a POV shot while your son rides over the ramp. Or underwater. Which means my son needs to buy the GoPro and I'll stick with the phone. Again, thanks for the review. Did you have the directional audio / noise reduction feature turned on?
Thanks Clint. I just bought a pixel 7 and am playing with my son's go pro 7 white using a chest strap for rail trail or road cycling. I like the idea of just using one device and the phone makes sense. Will test the phone shortly on local be trail and road soon to see if phone can keep up,! The wind nose on the phone is bad so would definitely recommend an external mic.
I guess it is a yr in now but then i bought the Pixel 6 pro and have the Hero 9 i had been using , the Hero is great to dunk in water and bang around but over all the Pixel 6 wins for me , i still use the Gopro as well at times , it is a great video tool .
Thanks for the comparison. I have a gopro 9 and a Panasonic TZ202 but consider the pixel 6 or 6 pro for recording both video and still pictures for saving weight on hikes (this would save weight compared to my current setting: These two cameras and an additional older Samsung phone). In the scene where you are moving towards that boathouse the gopro 10 looks much sharper/more detailed than the pixel 6. It apperas as if the pixel 6 is out of focus. Also in the Vlogs you recorded just before your face appears sharp with both cameras, but the background is blurred with the pixel 6 and crisp with the popro 9. Kind of weird.
Honestly would be tough to pick a winner for that category. However, the advantage of the GoPro is you can shoot in flat color and do color grading/color correcting.
I have the iPhone 13 pro max one t bit. . And it is totally a game changer. I used it for videos it really did great. You see the commercials using the iPhone for movies. It is really that good.
@@lealemon4856 In video the iPhone is king, it just is that much better at video. My Oneplus 9 Pro makes decent photos but the video is just not on par with iPhones. Same thing for the Pixel..
I actually find the GoPro to be a pretty decent vlog camera, especially since it has a front-facing screen. I prefer it in some situations and will shoot in flat color and color grade it. It just gives me more control over the image.
@@ClintGibbs yes you right on video but smartphone is more advanced on selfie pic(focused on face). Go pro is also great, but showing bigger image. I don't have GoPro experience myself tho... But i think company have more of fast movement video type of hype 😄on itself.
@@ClintGibbs just can’t make calls or text on it yet it is pretty cool that a phone has that quality including the stability . Thanks for the vids Clint. Dawsome with the sick jumps😮
This was not a video I expected to see in my sub box but I’m not complaining 👍🏾
Thank you for the excellent/extensive comparison! Truly appreciate all the performance details you covered.

Perfect review and video❤️❤️

I was thinking of getting a GoPro before my trip, not now lol, I'll stick with this pixel because to my surprise it actually did better.
Thanks for this comparison

Very helpful. Thank you!
If cell phones could deal better with wind (without having to add stuff) it would be a game changer.
Still photos go with Pixel. Video go with GoPro.
You didn't include the under water comparison. :)
which model is your glasses? it's beautiful!

Good stuff.
Which one has the true accurate color

@@Anoalekontrieger have u tried Google pixel 6 pro to compare with the iPhone max 3 pro ?
The bokeh on the pixel is superb - GoPro has brilliant stabilization but doesn't look as cinematic
Does the Hero 10 have live view?
go pro isn't for selfies

iPhone 13 works really good
Indeed. Probably the best phone for video. But the Pixel has finally about caught up.

Gopro is alot darker but stabilization kicks ass!
