Some of us were lucky enough to buy his debut, self titled album or cassette in the early 90's, it's a masterpiece, in my top 5 for sure

Discovered him when he opened for a Skynard/Nugget concert.
He played in Florida one more time.
It's been almost 27 years since

@@matthewcraggdiamondHey Matthew. If you have apple music, or probably any other platform, just search Ian Moore and the first album was self titled Ian Moore. Still my favorite.

I completely get why he would go the acoustic singer-songwriter path. When it comes to great musicians, Texas has a long history of this archetype. Seeing this transformation makes me wonder what Stevie Ray Vaughn would be doing these days had he lived.

Ian's performances, whether it's solo or with his full band, are something to behold - he brings 110% to every show and you never walk away feeling cheated. He is the real deal and a fine representation of Texas rockers.

I met Ian Moore at a celeb softball game in 1995. He signed a couple of my guitars I wish I still had. He got 2 hits with one at bat. He hit the ball and it hit a local radio DJ in the back of her right shoulder.

His full band rock shows are amazing, but his voice and songwriting are so good they lend themselves to acoustic music very well. I love that many of his songs can be performed full band or acoustic and have totally different vibes. So talented, I'll follow him on whatever musical journey he wants to go on.

I remember back in the 90's, he played an outdoor concert in my home city of Corpus Christi TX with his band.
When he played this song, the crowd went absolutly nuts, particularly the women. he still looks good in this picture. Rock on Ian

He was THE BEST to work with! I was lucky enough to be at C-101, and help bring him to town so many times... GREAT DUDE!

Around when "Muddy Jesus" was around, I heard he got burned out. They had him on no-stop touring, then I remember the TV commercials with the lightning bolts coming out of his guitar. My guess is he just wanted to play gigs and not be in the spotlight, because it fucks up your private life.

It was the record companies dude... it's always about the money...
that commercial was the "don't mess with Texas" TV PSA's,.. available on RUclips :)

Yeah I know, I heard to many stories of their bullshit. It is all about making money. No secret that
the majority of people who buy music are under the age of 25. Kinda suck most of the younger people listen to bullshit music nowadays, like rap and hip hop. I think it just a phase and people will eventually go back to something more real

I used to go see him in DFW and Denton a few times every year in the '90s. So many gorgeous girls there swooning over him. That decreased dramatically as his music changed and also when he cut his hair off. Haha!
