The Mellotron ! and the beautifully textured piano on it.. the entry of bass... beautiful...its almost a jazz piece... taken me to another place.... long before when life was wholly different....
Funny how songs can put you back to a certain time in your life and help you relive memories, feelings, emotions . This one is one of them, a beautiful masterpiece .As someone else put it “how does music have that power, that power to transport you to a time gone by? I don’t want to know the answer ”
Thanks for the upload! This is my favorite Led Zeppelin song because it is unlike any other song they recorded. The major 7ths create a dreamlike effect and the acoustic guitar makes the song.
That's because when music went digital it compressed the songs. Vinyl is a copy of the way the song was actually recorded. With digital they lower or raise the lows and highs to make everything sound even, which is why it sounds flat to you.

For me, I'd have to say this is my favorite Zep album. There's a couple of impossibly pretty moments on this record, that sets it apart (slightly) from their other great albums. The end bit to both this, and "Over the Hills....". But man oh man, this entire song!
It's a close one for me between this one and Zeppelin IV. Either one I'd call my favorite depending on my mood, hehe. Thanks for listening and commenting.
This sounds SO MUCH better than the remastered "official" version. So much of the awful sound that people associate with "digital" music is the result of these tasteless remasterings. I'm listening to this with reasonable good headphones, a very good audio card, and a very fast (1+ G) network connection. This has, of course, gone through all the RUclips compression/expansion digital magic. If digital technology itself is as bad some detractors claim, then this should sound terrible. I can't know how awesome this sounds in your listening room. I CAN tell you that this sounds FABULOUS -- orders of magnitude better than the "official" version. Thank you so much for publishing this.
I'm really happy you enjoyed this upload! One of my favorite ways to listen is with headphones, too so I'm always glad when the sound quality on something is good. Thanks for listening and the great comment!
So I'm late to the party with Led Zeppelin, born 5 years too late lol, a bit too sheltered, although I did acquire and enjoy Physical Graffiti after I went off to college in '78 - but recently I have been doing a deep dive and listening to many many live performances on RUclips, kicked off with the incredibly powerful Celebration Day performance of Kashmir - but then... Holy Houses of the Holy Batman, their badass first tune?! Grandpa Jimmy Page looks so cool I can hardly stand it! Okay I'll stop all of my gushing. I am a junkie for this 1994 version I discovered only a few days ago, a chainsmoker who lights the next cigarette with the one they just finished - oh hell, I'm a Jimmy Page Evangelist! It's Oxygen for me & it has been for about 5 days now... I was only today capable of ripping myself away out of curiosity about how the original studio version / remastered version sounded - here's what they did with it about 25 years later... ruclips.net/video/BeDylD8dV7U/видео.html - a hilarious comment under the video, I spew-laughed: "@ 4:44 okay drummer, give us your best John Bonham! (then in bold type) Drummer proceeds to hit his drums, literally as hard as he can" (It was Mike Lee, may he RIP)
Sounds awesome. Music just sounds better on vinyl. Even the crustiest old record has certain mojo that you just won't get in any other playback medium. It's not just a trend. Vinyl has made a comeback because it's the superior format. It's the least convenient, but it's worth it. :)
This is either a very well-kept record, or a reprint. It sounds impeccable. I had my mom’s original 1973 copy and it was warped to shit but still sounded somewhat good.
Thanks for listening and the comment! I went back to confirm which pressing this is. From the best I can tell, it's a 1977 reissue. It has been very well kept since then though.

Could you tell us a little about your audio equipment, turntable, amps, speakers? Love what I'm seeing and also reminds me when I had my collection and listened to the music and read the lyrics. The whole experience was so immersive then.
Very true. Having/playing vinyl albums back then was a much more interactive experience. Just playing them start to finish and holding the covers and reading the lyrics was so immersive. Here's how I have my recording setup... TURNTABLES: MCS 6700 / Denon DL-103R cartridge (mainly used for 33 1/3 rpm) Technics SL-Q3 / AT440MLb cartridge (mainly used for 45 rpm) PHONO STAGE: Vincent PHO 8 AUDIO INTERFACE: Focusrite 6i6 Mk II Then usb into my computer to record. Listening is whole different setup of course but the amps/speakers don't play of part in the sound recording of the uploads.

You are the sunlight in my growing
So little warmth I've felt before
It isn't hard to feel me glowing

Flee from me, keepers of the gloom
Speak to me only with your eyes

Ain't so hard to recognize, oh
These things are clear to all from time to time, ooh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh
Talk talk, talk, talk
Hey, I felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go
I cursed the gloom that set upon us, 'pon us, 'pon us, 'pon us
But I know that I love you so
Oh, but I know
That I love you so

The Rain song is perfect for us. We need some in Oregon. Thanks. Great upload.
No Led Zeppelin channel on satelite radio... crying shame!!
I just lost my brother- I dedicate this song to him. ( we played Houses of the Holy endlessly).
I'm really sorry for your loss, I'm glad this upload helped bring back some really good memories of him.
That guitar riff at 5:35 gets me everytime!
Yep, me too. Thanks for listening and commenting.
And a year later, without seeing your comment, I said the exact same thing.
what a beautiful overall love song
Sophisticated music! So cool.
Glad you enjoyed this one! Thanks for listening.
So beautiful.
glad you enjoyed it. thanks for listening!
this band is really great, I was a teenager around 16 years old when the song was popular
I love Zeppelin too. I'm glad you enjoyed this one and thanks for listening!
This is great. Vinyl with stereo sound. Keep it comming...Led Zeppelin please!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Zeppelin videos aren't being block as much, I should start uploading some again. Thanks for listening
God damn, they're great!
Yeah, they definitely are! Thanks for listening and commenting.
Para mí es la mejor canción de Led Zeppelin
TIENES RAZON,UNA DE LAS MEJORES, SALUDOS DESDE CATALUNYA 👁️😁☀️🎸🔥👍
Perfection.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for listening!

- a hilarious comment under the video, I spew-laughed:
"@ 4:44 okay drummer, give us your best John Bonham!
(then in bold type)
Drummer proceeds to hit his drums, literally as hard as he can"
(It was Mike Lee, may he RIP)
This is far superior to the remastered version. So rich in tones.
I’m glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks for listening!
Mankind's greatest song EVER, CHALLENGE ME!
No challenge from me! This is my favorite zeppelin song amongst many zeppelin songs. Thanks for listening!
Here for it
idk, I think tis song is pretty dam incredible..

In My Time Of Dying competes with this one well.
My challenge is: Thank You...and Battle of Evermore, plus Going to California. Trifecta.
thank's better tha the remaster💯
I’m glad you liked it. It does sound really good. Thanks for listening
Still have my Original.Still in Great shape.
It is the springtime of my loving
The second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing
So little warmth I've felt before
It isn't hard to feel me glowing
I watched the fire that grew so low, oh
It is the summer of my smiles
Flee from me, keepers of the gloom
Speak to me only with your eyes
It is to you I give this tune
Ain't so hard to recognize, oh
These things are clear to all from time to time, ooh
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh
Talk talk, talk, talk ...hey
I felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go
I cursed the gloom that set upon us, 'pon us, 'pon us
But I know that I love you so
Oh, but I know
That I love you so
These are the seasons of emotion
And like the wind, they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion
I see the torch
We all must hold
This is the mystery of the quotient, quotient
Upon us all, upon us all a little rain must fall
Just a little rain, oh
Ooh, yeah-yeah-yeah
Their best song
One of my favorites from them, too. Thanks for listening
Each Band is an Art of their own. From Satchmo to Judas Priest. Tchaikovsky to Marvin Gaye.
What a Wonderful World!!!
Led Zeppelin had at least one epic song on every album, and this is the one from HOTH.
Yep, definitely agree. Thanks for listening!
Thank you so much ❤️😘🌹
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening and commenting.
This song is everything I deserve to have...end of story...
PERFECTION 🏆🌟
Glad you like it! Thanks for listening!
Thanks
Youre very welcome. Thanks for listening!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening!

T'anks #cuttoothsRoom for this type of presentation of one of our Led Zep's Top Five, and … #aHatipHelloGoodbye
Yeah man great job on record well done
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening.
God how I miss vinyl...
Before I started playing them again a few years ago, I missed vinyl too. I'm just glad I held onto all my old records. Thanks for listening.
Using some super affordable DCMEKA in ear monitors to listen to this! Wow 😳 Amazing!!
people seem to love vinyl..when i was 16 and my ears were pristine i heard a band playing live in the mall, i followed the sound into the av department of jordan marsh and found the source a red compact disc spinning vertically
The first five minutes are lovely.
They certainly are! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening.
"You can only come to the morning through the shadows" -J.R.R. TOLKIEN
Great!!
The Perfect Song!
I definitely agree! Thanks for listening.
Ramble On definitely drives harder and moves through the soft and hard parts better. but there's just something about Rain Song that calms my soul whenever I hear it. Thanks for listening and commenting.
This was are wedding song 26 years and going strong
Perfeito!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening.
1973, Smoking a joint laid back in my lounge chair, drifting away.
Ahhh, the memories! Thanks for listening, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Can it get any better that this?
No.
I totally am not sure at all on that. One never wants to assume that, but.....
I don't know if it can get more beautiful than this!
Nope.
No.
Listen to it with earplugs, earorgasm
I definitely agree! Thanks for listening and commenting.
It is that insanely beautiful.
Heaven yes
Glad you liked it! Thanks for listening.
TURNTABLES:
MCS 6700 / Denon DL-103R cartridge (mainly used for 33 1/3 rpm)
Technics SL-Q3 / AT440MLb cartridge (mainly used for 45 rpm)
PHONO STAGE:
Vincent PHO 8
AUDIO INTERFACE:
Focusrite 6i6 Mk II
Then usb into my computer to record.
Listening is whole different setup of course but the amps/speakers don't play of part in the sound recording of the uploads.
Assolutamente magnifica.
I'm glad you like it. Thanks for listening!
I miss you Heather.💔
This song is not LZ's best. It is however, very special to me. Lots to reflect upon and all good. Thanks to the band...
Same feeling for me too. Hearing this really takes me back and brings back some very good memories. Thanks for listening and commenting.
@@CuttoothsRoom your welcome. Thanks for followin up.
Probably my favorite Zep tune. Bonham really should have gone for broke in the bridge though. I mean it's solid, but I know what he could do.
