Adriano, I would be happy to talk with you about the area. Are you planning to rent or buy when you come to Tacoma? Would you like to set some time aside to chat? 🌞
Tacoma native here. The best thing about Tacoma /Lakewood is that it's NOT Seattle. It has not been so taken over by activists and hipsters that someone of more 'centrist' leanings doesn't feel out of place. And Seattle is still close enough to catch a Seahawks, Mariners, Storm, Sounders, and, now, Krakens game or an arts event. Tacoma was founded as a blue collar town, and that's remained central to its character. Tacoma is also a proud garrison town, with JBLM [it's still Ft. Lewis and McCord AFB if you're from here] not a stone's throw from the city limits of Lakewood. We're an hour, maybe two, from Mt. Rainier National Park. We have two acclaimed zoos at Pt. Defiance and NW Trek. It has some wonderful architecture, including some hidden gems if you're a design fan. This isn't to say that Tacoma doesn't have its issues. I love my home town, but let's not act like it's not an American city. The largest single problem is traffic. There is an ongoing expansion of I-5 that leaves several choke points, and light rail construction is due to begin soon.
I like the direction Tacoma is going. I love that they have preserved the neighborhoods, thus far- unlike Seattle... Many that I know have made the move to the South Sound and are very happy with their choice!
@@karisellsthecity Well, I'm not 100% happy with the gentrification aspect... People used to San Francisco prices driving up housing prices. And like any town Tacoma has its bad neighborhoods. I know. I grew up in one. But I'd still rather live here than in Seattle any day.
