One of the better horror films I've seen as of late. Excellent cinematography and acting.

Seriously haunting and unsettling. Portraying a deep dark inner desire, trauma, and loneliness this way was fascinating. It's on Netflix so go watch ASAP!!!

I'm sure Kika is a nice person in real life but even watching her in this interview is freaking me out a little bit. LOL!

@@theokael It's honestly one of my favorite horror movies of all time. There is next to zero violence on screen but it still manages to evoke pure dread for the entire duration.

Congratulations Nicolas Pesce, this film is one of the best I've ever seen, it's a horror drama twisted story. It will be in my mind forever.

I have mixed feelings about this movie...on the one part it was dark, compelling and very well shot in black and white, the scenes are artfully structured and the camera work is masterful, however, the storyline and characters are not well sketched out or developed Kika Magalhaes, the lead actress was singularly brilliant.

I agree, I would have liked to know more about the parental figures in the movie asides from the fact the dad is kinda messed up, also, the Portuguese dialogue in the first chapter is really off (Im from Portugal) but thats about all the complaints I have, the movie is pretty great and Kika delivers one of the creepiest and real performances Ive seen in a while

berniew1 I think that was purposely done. I found it better we weren't spoon fed everything it would take away from the movie in my opinion.

This movie did not scare me rather I saw it more as an art piece. If anything it made me more sad than anything for the character. The actress did such beautiful work.

The story is horrific, though it is shot in such a way that when I saw at the cinema, all I noticed was the beauty of the camera work and lighting, only on second viewing did the horror register.
