Outer Wilds All Deaths Speedrun in

- This is a speedrun to experience every type of death in the game. This category was surprisingly complex to route so I made a few miscalculations with sleep timings and such, but I don't really care enough to do another run. The list of required death types is based on a datamined enumerator called DeathType containing the following:
Default (running out of HP)
Impact (Instant death from a high speed impact)
Asphyxiation (drowning or suffocating)
Energy (Entering the sun)
Supernova (What it sounds like)
Digestion (Being eaten by a fish)
BigBang (Beating the game)
Crushed (Being crushed by the sand)
Meditation (What it sounds like)
TimeLoop (Ending a loop still alive with the ATP active)
Lava (Entering Hollow's Lantern)
BlackHole (Entering the ATP black hole to go back in time)
Dream (Dying in a dream while already dead in the real world)
DreamExplosion (Using the prototype artifact)
CrushedByElevator (What it sounds like. Applies to DLC elevators as well as the launch tower)
That's it. None of the other endings are deaths. The 'you are dead' ending can happen with most death types listed above. Same with destroying spacetime. The other yellow text endings don't involve dying (or you live on in some fashion, I know you can die and get the dream ending)

i didn't even know there's a special sound effect for divebombing into lava

that's a negative on being deceased, he says to the charred corpse
Suggestion for a speedrun:
100% Broken Space Time: Scout.
First loop: Die falling
Second loop: Burn
Third loop: Sleep until the last second to reach ATP before it opens, and throw your scout into the black hole.
Subsequent loops: Complete 100% of the rest of the log.
Because you've thrown your scout into the ATP, you cannot meditate and cannot die, otherwise you break space-time. You can only complete loops by flying back to the ATP and shooting your scout into the black hole to stop the paradox. AND, because having a duplicate scout prevents your scout from being recalled, it also prevents you from using your scout except in photo mode (except for the last loop where you won't need to go back to the ATP). This means no boost strats, either.
I've been meaning to try, but I suck at this game too much even though I love it.
Cool Speedrun! The amount different runs that are come up with is limitless!
I also love how most of them end up at the games ending, it literally never gets old.
I really like this - it's a challenging run requiring thoughtful routing, in a unique category.
and it's also very, very funny
"good luck, and safe flying" *immediately hits the ground and dies on impact*
When covering every death takes longer than getting all the ship logs in the dlc
38:16 that was the most smoothest gather i've ever seen in my life
is it just me, or is it really sad that as the supernova engulfs the planets (24:42) the travelers' music cuts out part by part?
I actually saw it as a really cool detail by the devs
Interesting that destroying spacetime doesn't count as a death.
10:05 I was confused why you waited just to fly into the sun, is this faster to do since the speedrun timer is paused while dozing off?
38:05 wow, how have I not noticed that before? The gather prompt is available from any range? If speedruns have always done that I feel blind lol
Yes, the timer doesn't progress when sleeping, so it's quicker to sleep until daytime when the sun is overhead.
Yes, the remote-gather has been a part of speedruns for a while. If it makes you feel any better, it's easy to miss since it happens so quickly.
Yeah It's to get the sun overhead instead of below the horizon. Sleeps are treated like loads, they don't count towards the time because sleep speed is hardware dependent
No one:
The protragonist: *WITNESS ME!*
I’ve never seen the dream explosion thing before, the heck was that??
death grips lyric splits
For the time loop death, mightn't it be faster to just fly to the Stranger, find a green fire, and nap until you get looped? Or have you tried that?
I'm already sleeping the max amount of time so no, that would take just as long
Just wondering, is there any special reason to be standing in the middle of that 3 specific trees in the forest?
You need to look at 3 trees to progress to the next part, and those 3 are close enough together to look at them all really fast
What does dying to the ship exploding come under? I'm guessing default like getting shocked? Shame it doesn't showcase all the types of damage leading to a default death, but I guess that's just the nature of this category.
