I use batch certified lakes! If you check the playlists I have created one called Color Studies that I will continue to add to and will help with understanding bath Bomb colors!
Hey Robyn, always love watching your experiments. I’m a newbie tbtw. 🥰 this was great to watch!! I always get a kick out of watching your videos, you crack me up every time!! 😆😂 thanks for the laughs!! ☺️💕
Hi Robyn, great video! I've just subscribed and am excited to learn more from your channel! I have a question about the third gnome bath bomb you did with the lecithin. I have the same gnome mold and for the life of me can get my bath bombs to come out with breaking! I love the mold, but it's getting so frustrating when they all break up! Any tips on how to use it better?
I use all natural things very basic but instead of all of the chalkiness, since you are going to sit in the bath tub, i add oatmeal. i dont use no poly, tarter or any chemicals. all natural. i read about all those other things, and in the long run, they do make you itchy. i did the homework.
You might be able to! I haven’t tested it, but the most common ones used in handmade cosmetics are Poly 20 and Poly 80. The 20 is lighter and generally used to solubilize light oils/EO’s and water in room sprays. The 80 is used to solubilize heavier/larger quantities of oils that you would use with bath bombs. 60 probably performs somewhere in the middle and might be fine with a bath bomb that is light on oils
Hey girl hey! ; ) This was a great experiment that should really help the ones just getting started on making BB's. Quite a few years ago, I got a bit duped with the Turkey Red too, it's always stated as the water soluble "oil" but I wasn't impressed with no emulsifier either. My lesson learned was that I'd always use Poly 80 and SLSA in my mix, regardless of which oil I might use. No nasty oil slicks and or sticky colored tub rings...YUCK! Never tried the Sunflower "thang" but I don't think I'll be running out to get any. LOL I think ya really accomplished having the cleanest tub in the country after this experiment! Lmao ; ) Have great day...Big ((Hugs)) and Love from Texas!! xx : )
It’s really shocking to me to know how often I have seen Red Turkey recommended now that I realize it’s totally BUNK 😂… it fr makes me wonder where these ideas get started! Glad you’re on the emulsifier train!!!
I just bought a bottle of sunflower lecithin and was shocked at how STINKY it is! Did yours smell awful (you didn’t mention it)? I looked it up and found out it does have a fishy smell 😝 Was curious if you had same experience? Thanks for this great vid! I swear by p80.
Oh interesting!!! This actually smelled really sweet, but the castor was TERRIBLE. I have a different brand that I’m planning on trying though so I’ll let you know if it’s got some STANK on it 😂
It’s a toss up for me, I like the tween 80 and the full sunflower lecithin maybe a combination of those two to avoid the angry ring. I don’t see the value in using the Turkey red castor oil. The only thing that is an effective emulsifier is the tween 80, so the oil sitting on top is expected with anything that didn’t contain the emulsifier (tween 80). I love that it has surfactant properties. Now I need to decide if I want to experiment with some emulsifiers I have on hand to see if any have those amazing surfactant properties like the sunflower lecithin and the tween 80. You probably would not ever need SLSA with those two on hand. Thanks again for posting and doing this experiment!
The angry ring 😅… yeah I do like the combo of lecithin and poly! The lecithin is much heavier though! I’ve played with it a little since this and you have to be really careful not to add too much or they get soggy 🙈
Ahhh! Yeah I don’t talk about it a ton. I tend to move quickly from project to project lol… I’m already working on new stuff so I forget about other things I’ve done hahaha
OMGosh Lecithin~ ROTFLMAO ~ Google ~ my go to as well~ So funny ~ I died laughing. (mine is Asops Fables, Aesops Fables?) makes my kids crazy cause I can't/won't say it correctly!
Your video makes me appreciate the polysorbate 80 all the more!
Right! The more of these WTF videos I do the more I appreciate it!
May I ask what is your bindage agent your using?
Sure! I use distilled water for my binder!
Great video and your personality is great!
Thank you so much for this video. It was very informative 👍🏻
LOL OMG I love your facial expressions. Love your videos and information that you supply.
Haha… I used to get in trouble for making faces in school, LOOK AT ME NOW MR DUNN! 🤣😉
please tell us what kind of colorants you use

Great video! Thank you for sharing your experiment! -Momo
Yesss! It’s just one of those ingredients that doesn’t seem to have a very good replacement!
Great content
lol great video, glad to know ahead of time..thanks for doing the dirty work for us..including cleaning the tub multiple times..
Haha no problem! 😊
Ohh the Polysorbate is beautiful
It really is!
OMG you a so funny 🤣 and informative thank you so mutch for a beginer like me 🥂 loved your video cant wait to see more 👍
Aww thanks so much! 😊
lol, I think I'll stick with poly 80 and slsa. Though I might try the sci and see how much different it is from slsa.
Haha! Comparing slsa, SCI, and scs is on my list 😊 (but from my experience SCI and slsa are both really great!)
Hi I’m thinking of making bb with lecithin. How well did it work with emulsifying the oil and water ?
It didn’t emulsify the oil and water.
@@BathFizzFoam thank you

Aww thanks so much! I definitely want to create a bunch of resources for newbies! It can be frustrating trying to figure this stuff out on your own!

Have you tried using a piece of cardboard (or cardstock?) to help you flip the gnome?
Great video! Are these dyes or lakes?
Thanks! There are lakes!

Nice experiment, thanks for sharing. I guess you just can't get around using poly 80.
Not as far as I can tell! The experiments will continue though and if I ever find a work around I’ll let y’all know!
Hey! Can anyone answer a quick question I’m still kinda New this,Could I use poly 60 instead of poly 80??

You are too funny. I love this video.
Sticking with Poly 80, better to have clean tub than have an insurance claim for ruined tubs.
Man that’s the truth!!! I would feel sooooo bad if this happened to a customer (or even a friend/family who it was gifted to!)
I'm interested in seeing a bomb mixed with Sun Flower Lect. and Poly 80 !
Or being sued cause someone fell in a slippery bath!
Well, never been this early before. Had hopes for the sunflower it looked pretty. I'll stick with poly.
Ugh meeee too! Lol I was losing my mind over how pretty it was until she showed her true colors
Polysorbate 80 is a surfactant =)

The troll reminds me of branch from Trolls. And they were all still better than one that dyed my tub pink 🤦🏻♀️that thing drove me crazy
It definitely reminds me of the trolls I had as a kid! Big 90’s vibes!
lol
😂 on a side note your hair is so shiny! What’s your secret
Not me just learning you have a book 👀👀👀 payday is coming up~
Ahhh! Yeah I don’t talk about it a ton. I tend to move quickly from project to project lol… I’m already working on new stuff so I forget about other things I’ve done hahaha
Are you Cristine from Simply Nailogical's long lost sister? o.O
Poly 80 is necessary imo 🤓
It’s definitely a bath bomb MVP!
You don't need to apologize for plugging your own book. 😂 Sell it, girl!
Your around where you store items for sale. Your complaining about your hair. It needs to be tied back for sanitary purposes
None of the items I sell are around my hair 😅 but I’m very big on GMP’s, so I appreciate your concern
I cant hear that girl….🙏😱😮she is so not funny…🙄
half this video is gabbing, unnecessary ? too much.
