Haven’t been with them long but they are treating me very well and doubled my limit from “good behavior “ I swear by them for the chances they are giving me
So glad everything is working out for you with them!🤩
My daughter and son when they turned 18 they were approved for $25/$30k from NF. I place them on my credit when they turned 16. So at the age of 18 they credit scores were 680-700. My Son is 24 and his credit is better than mines and all of our CC’s are paid on time every single month.
Great Job Mom teaching to be responsible with their credit early on! 👏👏🏆🥰
I did the same thing for my daughter, set the babies up for success... Salute to you both 💖❣️❤️
I added my girls as teens also. They're now 25 and 19... my 19yo does everything I tell her and she's doing better than me and I'm doing great lol My 25yo got a little off track but she's still set and doing better than I was doing at her age lol
Thank you for the information.
How can we find out what our internal score is? Can we ask NFCU?
I have a Navy Federal account for maybe two years, but never used it and only had the initial $5 in it. After watching your video I immediately went to do a credit card app. My credit score is about 620, but I was approved for $7,100. I’m going to get the certificate next.
Congratulations! Use it responsibly and always pay off the balance to boost your credit score up and they will give auto limit increases with responsible usage too. 🤩
Clap
If you pay 80% to 90% off it pushes your due date out however many months ahead you do not have to make a payment until that due date. It's still will report on time monthly payments. Basically by paying 80% of it off you made your next few payments ahead of time. Their car loans and personal loans work the same way
Thank you much Queen! No lies told! I joined NF about 6 months ago, immediately started my direct deposit with them & was approved for $11,000 credit limit (my credit score is in the low 600s)
I be trying to tell'em it works! Thank you for sharing your experience!🥰
they didnt give me that much
I listened to your presentation and I did the prequalifying and then the application and was approved for the flagship for $20k. Thank you so much, your info is priceless….
Excellent! Thank you 🤩
My 25k flag CC is in the mail thanks to you. My daughter turns 18 in a few months. Gonna strongly encourage her to obtain the secured card. This way she can work on her spending habits her last semester of highschool and stop using her debit card at Starbucks every day.
You could also add her as an authorized user on your credit card too. That’s how I got my son’s credit started. I froze his 3 credit bureaus so that he can’t apply for credit without me knowing it. He is 22 now, and he only has the credit he is authorized on my cards to use. He got approved for his first apartment without a security deposit for his utilities and only a half deposit on first months rent all without me. My goal is to have him buying his first house by 25-26. Teach them young to be responsible with their credit so they never have worry about it when they get older. 🥰
I’m a Navy Federal Credit Union member and I never knew about this. Thanks for being informative and dropping this knowledge Star🙏🏿✌️🙏🏿~Scotty Scott ~

I feel at home over here. I love everything about your videos. Nothing fancy or sugar coated. Straight to the point, informative and accurate is all that I need! You are greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to following the advice given and starting my credit building journey.
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback ☺️
You’re so easy to follow……thanks for this sweetheart. I’m a single parent with my only child graduating from high school very soon and I need to get my sh*t together. Bad credit . I just can't get approved anywhere
I hate this for you! Best thing you can do is teach your child to be responsible with their credit now. When my son turned 18, I froze his credit so he couldn’t apply for anything without me approving it first. He is 22 now and I still have the freeze on all 3 Bureaus. My son’s score is close to the 780s and he got his first apartment without a deposit down or utilities deposit. It’s very important to teach them how to save money for the things they need instead of relying on credit to heavy. It leads to debt and debt can eventually lead to missed payments and etc. I wish you all many blessings!
I’m also a struggling single mom with a shitty score. No one is willing to a p p rove me

NFCU is awesome. I established a checking and savings account maybe 10 years ago. Applied for a AMEX credit card, got approved for $7100.00 and after 6 months they increased the limit by $2000.00 after those 6 mths without a credit pull, because mine are locked as usual.

My 23 yr old son received a credit card from Navy Federal for $25k just applying on line. He has been paying his car note on time for 3 years, has a savings, checking, and direct deposit with Navy Federal for 3 years.
Hi! Thank you for watching! That is awesome your son has established a solid relationship with Navy Fed at such a young age because this can be his bank for life. They are a full service credit union, and by establishing this relationship early on, when he is ready to buy a home or any other big ticket item, it will make the process that much easier for him. Great Job! 🎉🎉☺️☺️
My son got 22,700 credit card at 18. He has had been getting his check direct deposited into NFCU, since his first job at 16. He got approved for a car loan (no co-signer) at 19.

Hi! Thank you for watching! I did a video on there business credit card here ruclips.net/video/lPzFSBgixfw/видео.htmlsi=OCBlarWjttNmrmpJ
Your video is great and I'm hoping that you make one for my situation. I've been with nf for years and I have 2 credit cards, a business account and extended credit line but I haven't made them my primary bank. Regions is my bank and I hate them, been there 11 years with nothing to show. After this video I am switching everything over to nf, I've been late a few times due to rough times but I'm still there needing the financial help. Oh and I have a vehicle through navy
Thank you for watching and sharing your experiences. If Regions isn’t offering you the things you need financially, than they don’t deserve to have your money in their financial institution making them money. Periodt! I would switch it if it was me 🏃🏽♀️☺️

Hello. I just called navy federal on Friday. They told me they don't do a credit check for a pledge loan because the money u put up is your collateral. She told me it's very rare that any one is turned down for the pledge loan. She said there was no credit score that was required to get the pledge loan. That's the purpose of them holding your money until u pay the loan back.

Stop putting bad credit is ok with Navy Fed you definitely need high 500 or low 600 to even get a respectable amount
Bad credit is okay if you’re doing a pledge or certificate loan using your own money as I stated in the video. That is the way to rebuild your credit to be able to get higher limits. In good faith you’re showing the ability to payback despite setbacks that damage the credit. The only way to get credit going again is to outweigh the negative with the positive. Hope this clears it up ☺️
Yes 600 is considered bad credit. N they use fico 8 not 9 which doesn’t include medical. So yes bad credit works. Not extreme terrible.
500 is not high my dear. That is deemed low/bad credit.
@@arrogantlyki exactly ive been saying that on a bunch of videos, they dont like being questioned 🤣🤣
I never got approved mines in 600

My uncle tried to get me in as well. Both representatives said that we had to live in the same household. Since we live in different states, they said that I had to be his child or sibling.
@ggrant3260 Hey love I would definitely try again, unless rules have changes through the years I never heard that. I've gotten several of my nephews in by just providing them the access#. Maybe call and speak to a more seasoned representative. Good luck!
@@lindadavis5948Hey, season Navy Federal alumni here, @ggrant3260 is right. I just left almost a month ago the policy never changed. It has to be a child, parent, sibling, spouse, grandchild, grandparent, or household member. I’m going to be honest some reps use access to let people in and never question it but they are supposed to. Respectfully, your nephews got lucky with a MSR who isn’t by the book. In general any MSR that calls in the potential member is supposed to ask how they are eligible for membership and if they aren’t a federal government employee or don’t have an immediate family member (aunts, uncles, and/or cousins do not count unfortunately) they are not eligible unless they work for NFCU themselves. People have literally sat in the lobby for an hour or almost 2 only to be told that they were not eligible by a MSR after they waited all that time because they were aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or friend even if they had the actual access number they were still not eligible. To be honest with you it all depends on what MSR you have if they’re new or not and whether they follow policy or not. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. They used to be more lax about it but since there are so many scammers and fraudsters they are cracking down and actually putting it into place to prevent fraud and help members accounts stay secure because so many people have been abusing it and the people that help them get on are penalized for it. I’ve seen plenty of instances where people would let someone use their access number and the person has no actual relationship as far as immediate family or similar to that particular person that has actually served is a family member of someone who served who have lost their account or have lost their sponsorship privileges to sponsor other accounts but in all fairness that can happen to people that are related as well.
Question my grandfather served but he is now deceased, could I still get in?
@@tomeshakidd3404 they can do it for you if you call the call center just say your grandfather served and they’ll be able to get you in right away. If they say they need more documentation ans to visit a branch just bring a copy of his obituary if you have.
I owe them from years ago. I regret messing up my account with them. Hopefully I can pay them back soon and get back in good with them
You definitely can

Hello do you have a email
And does paying back ya overdraft counts towards building a relationship with navy federal
I mean do they confederate when you pay back your overdraft on time does that count as on time payments with them I'm just getting myself to together my credit is not that bad it could be better
Hey Star I have had NFCU for over 20years and have never gotten approved for anything but I will keep trying hopefully I can get approved
Love me some navy federal
Thank you for your time and information!!!!
My pleasure!😊
As a retired Naval Officer and a long time NFCU member, these videos scare the hell out of me. Promoting high limit credit cards especially to those with bad credit or low income is financially dangerous. Part of our job is to keep those under our command out of financial trouble. Now NFCU seems to be working against us.
This video is intended to educate people on how they can build or rebuild credit. It is always up to the individual to be responsible with any credit they are approved to get. Personal responsibility is a most for any lending and NO ONE should get loans or credit cards, or anything they don’t intend to pay back or is above their means to pay. I don’t promote that on my channel at all!!! NFCU and other credit union are always looking out for the member first, but the member also has a financial responsibility to use credit wisely. Thank you for your comment. 🤩
@@starrcarterfinance That is the problem isn’t it. People think that because they qualify for a loan, then they must be making enough to pay that loan back. Most people don’t understand finances. There are plenty of videos out there with the statistics. Dave Ramsey (who I don’t always agree with) has a whole program on it. Caleb Hammer has some astounding videos on how much debt people are in. Soul crushing debt. A home is about the only “good” debt I still believe in, but even that is not as safe a bet as in the past. Anyone who is financing a car over 5 years (should be 3) is buying too much car and satisfying a want, not a need. Credit should only be used as a tool, not a crutch.
As a long time NFCU member, I can honestly say that I don't have access to high limit credit cards, and I have good credit. They still take into account how much income I have coming in before any credit is issued. That is for cards as well as loans. It is easier to borrow from NFCU, but they don't let me borrow something that would take 1000 a month payments if I only make 1000 a month.
Valuable info. Tons of folks trying to rebuild their credit and looking for an opportunity. This channel promotes financial literacy.
I agree it’s also a shame that it’s ok for anyone who hasn’t served or not a direct family member be able to even qualify for these accounts and funds. And then being told how to get more. I see so many ppl giving and selling their info to ppl just so they can get an account to get loans that they really don’t plan on paying back just living for the moment. Basically scamming and taking away from vets that served

Great info! I'm about to hit my 91/3 wait period and I just opened up a pledge loan for $5k and recently paid it off, 90%, so now I have about 8-9 products with NFCU. Should I ask for credit limit increase or apply for a totally new card, trying to get the highest limit possible? All scores currently are right under 600 FYI
I would wait until the score has gone up some more before applying to be honest. Keep making on time payments and keep the relationship building. 90 days may not be long enough for a score that low. If you do apply for the limit increase make sure its not a hard inquiry first. Hope this helps. 🤩
Hey! Keep us posted on how much your score increases as a result of the PL’s 😃 congrats!!! 🎉

@@starrcarterfinance 💜💜💜
I'm a PenFed rather a NavyFed guy. I understand the principle of the secured\pledge loan. My fear is what happens credit score wise as EACH pledge loan would end if I took out a series of them to keep the train rolling so to speak. Those would be the ONLY type installment loans currently in place.
Dont have an installment/pledge loan for less than 24 months. It will hurt your average age of credit more than help it it in the long run. I don’t see the point in multiple pledge loans personally. Too me its quality over quantity. For example: One pledge loan for say $5000 paid back over 24-36 months is better than several $500 pledge loans. The main goal is to build the relationship by using financial products that makes sense for your financial needs. Too many credit obligations don’t look good either for your Debt-to-Income ratio as well. Showing the ability to save money with a certificate of deposit is great too. It has to be a balance of lending and savings to look favorable.
Just got approved for the Navy Federal flagship credit card my credit score showed 591 on credit karma One account in collections 5 maxed out credit card and still got 7100 approved on card. I just changed my checking account to a flagship account and started two CD accts just three weeks ago
I already have a car loan with them and also have been with them with a regular checking account for six months with direct deposit also
Congratulations on rebuilding 🎉🎉 Get your other cards paid under 30% of the limit, and your score will improve drastically! Use your new card responsibly to keep this awesome relationship with them 🤩
So lost, been with then for 20 years, never gave them any issues, credit stay on point. And they have never given me a loan this big.

This video is straight up a secured loan! Keep pushing your videos but...title is everything. Good luck! 😊
Yes it is a secured loan that will help you build a relationship with NFCU especially if you’re credit isn’t that great or new to credit. If you put enough money in this loan (over $1000)your are essentially showing the lender that you can handle debt thereby securing your future for unsecured high limits in the future.
