Today I have 11 credit cards all with zero balance I pay my cards off every month. It took time but I learned a lot in the Process Navy Federal is the best I ever had as far as banking. I am a work in progress Credit Score High 700’s today!

    Starr , back in July '23, your channel was the first l came accross that talked about Navy Fed . I am a veteran and never banked with them, just USAA. Started gardening with Navy Fed in mid-July . Flagship Checking , Savings, Direct Deposit, EasyStart CD, Special EasyStart CD, Save First Account, TU=mid 700s, 2 Inquiries. Pre-qualified for all the cards but wanted a good balance transfer card for now. Applied for the Platinum card 2 days ago, about 2 weeks left before my 3 month membership mark. Approved with a 25,000 limit!!!. I will continue gardening and wait for next year to go for the Flagship Card. I want to refinance my auto-loan with them first. So far I am really happy with Navy Federal. Thank you for all your advice.!!

    You are AMAZING! You explain everything so well. You are So easy to follow and understand ❤. I literaly just opened the N rewards one hour ago with the $200 minimum. But in this video you said we should open it with $500. Should I go back and add $300 or does it not make any huge difference? Is that something that I can even do? Thank you.

    • @starrcarterfinance
      @starrcarterfinance  Год назад +2

      Hi! Thank you for the awesome feedback. Since you already opened it with $200, I don’t think you can add an additional $300, but I could be wrong. But if you can’t add to it, all rules still apply, make sure you never carry a balance on this card because with that low spend, it will ruin your credit utilization and make your score go down some more. Use it but pay it back off. Keep no more on it than maybe $5 if you do have a balance for it to report to the bureaus, but that’s it.

    • @RICKYCASH74
      @RICKYCASH74 11 месяцев назад +3

      You can Add the extra 300 by putting it in your savings and calling navy Federal requesting a credit increase from your savings to your Nsecured card

    We don't have any traditional direct deposit options that I'm aware of. I am semi-retired and my wife works for a very small employer that does not have any direct deposit option. Yet we keep hearing about how important this is, not just for establishing a relationship but for getting better terms on some Navy Fed products. We have no paycheck we can direct deposit, no Social Security or no company pension (both likely coming in 2030).
    I assume recurring ACH transactions don’t work? I am pulling monthly IRA distributions, but from what I’ve seen that doesn’t work either. Am I just out of luck here?

    • @starrcarterfinance
      @starrcarterfinance  Год назад

      I think as long as there is income that is coming into the account on a regular basis, I didn't think it matters if it is from a "Job or traditional route". All direct deposits come by an ACH Transfer from the payee bank to yours, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. ☺️

    Hello ....luv your content... just applied for a personal loan to consolidate credit cards and was informed that I can apply for a debt consolidation loan, which is a separate loan application. Can you share some data points for this type of application?

    • @starrcarterfinance
      @starrcarterfinance  10 месяцев назад

      Hi! Thank you for watching! I don’t have any loan experience with Navy on a debt consolidation. But I worked in banking for 15 years and, I would think it would be like a personal loan application but in addition you providing info for the bills you want them to pay off. Most credit unions that do these loans will pay the different lenders directly to make sure the money goes to those debts. So have those account numbers and amounts ready just in case they ask.

      Woww, that is weird that they haven't graduated the card with that positive card behavior. I would say instead of applying for a new card, look into why this one has graduated with their member service, and if it can graduate, see if they can product change to the Cash Rewards Card. Then hopefully this way will prevent having to do a hard pull for a new card that you may or may not get approved for.

    I noticed that when I pay extra money extra money on my card. The interest amount increases the same time. Why is that?. How can I pay the balance down when the interest matches the extra I pay for that month. If I don't pay extra the interest goes back down. Why is that?

    • @starrcarterfinance

      Was the money you spent on the card from buying items/services or have you done a cash advance? ( cash advances with Navy Fed are as easy as transferring money from your card to your account) This makes a difference in how the interest is applied.

      Before you joined Navy Fed, was you banking with another credit union or bank that you have an already established relationship with? If so, I would talk to them about doing a consolidation loan. Always start with your current bank or credit union especially if you have years invested in being a customer. Navy Fed will be much stricter with lending because of the recent scams and people not paying back, and joining through back door methods.

Your relationship will other financial institutions has solidified your credit worthiness and as stated earlier, my membership was just 3 days old, and I applied with confidence. 58K.

If I already have a goal rewards credit card and want to do a product change do I have to pay off the whole balance on full from the old credit card or can I have a small balance and still ask for a product change? I've been a member of Navy Federal for 29 years.

      Was there a hard pull for the increase? And how many Transunion inquires do you have? Navy Fed is inquiry sensitive even if it’s with them. They don’t let you double dip and it will be another hard pull if you apply for a new credit card. So depending on how many inquiries you have on Trans if you should wait or not.
