I got blurry vision when i first went underwater with my eyes open my eyes felt watery but now i can do it tysm if i did not see dis video i would have still not known you are my insperation! i thought i was the only one all my friends can open their eyes underwatrer except me but now im fine ty 🤗
I can barley open my eyes underwater for a split seconds. Thanks to you, I tried the sqinting thing and made it bigger and bigger until I can do it perfectly. Thanks so much!
Im only 11 but I’ve grown up on the water! My house is on the water and we have boats so we go swimming, surfing, and diving! I learned to swim at a young age and I thought that opening your eyes was bad. But I still did it bc I don’t like goggles! Now I can open my eyes underwater and it doesn’t hurt and it isn’t very blurry
the first timed i tried i was confident and not scared but my eyes burned like fire and it burned so bad for the rest of the day and now i just can't bring myself to do it... i hate myself for it someone help i rlly want to get over this fear 🥺
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. It can be scary especially after you've had a bad experience.. Do you think it might have been in a very chlorinated pool? I know I said the method with a bowl of water didn't work for me but you could try and give it a go. Tap water won't sting as much as there's no chlorine in it.
I've got a swim test without goggles and I've never opened my eyes underwater before! Gonna practice soon. Hopefully squinting works for me cause I only need to be able to grab an object from the bottom of the pool :) great video thanks!!
lol I did that too but I didn’t know how to open my eyes underwater so I looked at the object above the water and then blindly dived hoping I would touch the thing btw how did your test go?
Whenever I saw characters opening their eyes underwater in films or TV I thought it was just CG or something and didn't think people could actually do it 👀
I remember my first time opening my eyes underwater, it was very scary. I only did it for a second but I still can’t do it without wiping my eyes with a towel after, any tips on how to do it without a towel?
omg i feel the same fear with going in the water without holding my nose. I just never stopped doing so and now as an adult i dont know how to do it and a little scared too...could you maybe do a video on how to go in the water without holding your nose? like tips and how to?
The one thing I will say is that I’ve had sleeping problems for years and I can tell you this going swimming with your eyes open is something that definitely clears away all the dryness in blood shotness in your eyes.
I’m a master at opening my eyes underwater, I’ve been training for a while, i can see just as clear as goggles even in chlorine water. Also very few itches
I tried the bowl method just now and it surprisingly didn't hurt at all. At least until I started moving my eyes around after a few dunks. Next I'll try this at the pool and see how it goes.
when I was 5 I opened my eyes under water for the first time. Honestly, it was so clear and easy, I was shocked. As a 19 year old, I still do it. It’s never hurt. Sometimes i do rinse my eyes with regular tap water to make sure it doesn’t burn but I swim professionally as a diver now.
I’ve swam in all different bodies of water from a young age and was on swim team throughout my teens… I had no idea people were so afraid of opening their eyes underwater and avoided doing it! I used to a lot when I was younger. My eyes would get a little blurry or red/irritated directly after but it usually would go away fairly quickly and I never thought it was particularly painful - during or afterwards. I’m shocked to see so many people say they’ve never done it & also express uncertainty and fear about doing it! Interesting!
my parents and sisters can open their eyes underwater im the only one who cant open my eyes underwater because its so painful so i keep my eyes closed when im underwater but i still can swim faster
I can’t swim bc 1. I don’t know how to float 2. I can’t open my eyes when I’m underwater . Well I can swim but not float I guess it’s hard to explain but thanks I have not tried this yet but I will soon thx again
Hello beautiful mermaid, I think you are talking about a problem that I do not think it is, in my case I always keep my eyes open underwater, but I still do not recur when it was the first time I opened them, it is possible that it was a few years later old. I do not see it strange since all my family, friends and all the people I know have always opened their eyes to play in the pool, the only problem that at the end of the day we had red eyes, but that disappears after a few hours and does not I remember using neither drops nor gels. Anyway, it seems that mermaids have to teach us how to open our eyes under water, I think you are a heroine.
i use to be able to open my eyes under water everyday and jump in without holding my nose i stopped going to the pool for abt a year and a half and i lost it all

How?
You thought that your eyes would just disintegrate if you open them underwater?
I remember my first time opening my eyes underwater, it was very scary. I only did it for a second but I still can’t do it without wiping my eyes with a towel after, any tips on how to do it without a towel?
after you get your head out of the water, don't wipe or rub your eyes, instead try blinking a lot to let the "dirty" water flow down from your eyes :)

I always hold my nose whenever I dive, because of I don't my head will hurt. I heard I gotta exhale while diving did that and it still hurts
I dont hold my nose when i go underwater
I would love a video on this too if there is a link

It all depends on the pool - some sting more than others. I often wonder whether a very small amount of salt in the water would help more.

Are we talking chlorine or salt water cause salt water I’m fine but chlorine I hate it
I can in just pure water like the bath or sink but swimming pools I cant I am worried for chlorine qn if it will ruin eye sight

but how do you make you can SEE under the water?:(
There really isn’t a way to actually see clearly underwater without goggles but you can ask your eye doctor for advice sorry this is 7 months late 😅

Also, the chlorine or the salt is not good the surface of your eyes. Some pools also have a mineral water which may not be good for your eyes neither.
