    Very nice and simple solar light :) Thanks for sharing! You might want to use clear silicone instead of hot glue since silicone once dry it wont be affected by temperature change, since hot glue when expose to cold temperature has a tendencies to become brittle like glass and when hot well it melt. Cheers!

      Glad you like it :)
      You are right. Silicon glue may be the right option. Because I have also observed hot glue slightly melts in sun light.

    Great project Debasish! Loved it!
    You could even get a custom 3D printed bulb with your own custom designed PCB. You can then sell this if you want :)

      +DEBASISH DUTTA Why does the light come on when you put your hand over the solar panel?

    • @opengreenenergy
      @opengreenenergy  8 лет назад +3

      +thechromepoet it's to simulate the dark condition.When the light sense dark, it turns on

    is the chip that has been used in this project be able to protect the over discharging of the AA battery? if yes then at what voltage will it stop the circuit to protect from over discharging the battery. Thanks

    • @Jamal_Tyrone
      @Jamal_Tyrone 8 лет назад +1

      +Ashutosh Agarwal That AA battery is pretty unlikely to suffer overcharge from a tiny solar panel. They don't produce much power at all.

    Not to be overly critical, but how did a 6000k LED light a tent at 4500K?

    Any books that anyone might recommend that I could read to learn more about the basics on soldering and electrical in terms of a project like this? I've never used a solder before.

      You can read this book "Practical Electronics for Inventors, Fourth Edition".
      It is really a good book to start.

    Hi there. Do you know what may be happening if the LED lights up even when the solar panel isn't covered to simulate dark condition?

    • @TIO-bc6dr
      @TIO-bc6dr 6 лет назад +1

      If the LED lights up when the solar panel is not covered, it means that there is not enough "SOLAR" energy to power the solar panel. This will happen if you take the assembled solar light into the house and stay away from windows.

    Hello,
    Nice video, but please tell me if I want to put a SMD LED (for stronger light) instead of the simple LED you have used, what changes should I make to the circuit. I mean will the QX5252 chip work with one (or several in paralel) 5730 SMD led powered by a 3.7v 4000mAh 18650 Li-Ion battery? (with more solar cells to recharge)
    I am waiting for your answer.
    Thanks

    • @TIO-bc6dr

      Yes, the panel acts like an open wire when there is no "SOLAR" energy to power it.
