  • In honor of Hobonichi season, I give an overview of how I have been using my Hobonichi techos, starting in this video with the A6 size original layout in the Hobonichi Avec and Hobonichi HON books. I also begin with a brief look at the Hobonichi 2024 Guidebook, as this is the first year that I've gotten one, which includes a wealth of examples of how different people have used their techos in creative and inspiring ways along with an overview of their techo books and covers available in their 2024 release. I'll continue with my use of the Hobonichi Weeks in another video.
    Hope you enjoy!

I really appreciated how you shared the parts of all your spreads and especially how they changed over time. It can feel panic inducing to think you have to find a layout that works for you for the whole year by Jan 1. Love this reminder that it can change as you need it to change.

aw thank you so much for your comment, and I'm so glad to hear this! it's honestly a reminder for myself as well, that our plans for our planners and notebooks can grow and evolve over time, and that it can be quite fun to see it as evidence of your growth! I'm so sorry for the delay in replying, but so grateful for your comment. I hope that the new year has begun well for you with your notebooks! 🥰

Really appreciate your calming voice. Makes the video so nice to watch/listen to. I don't read Japanese but couldn't resist the guidebook (and the adorable bear... plus, I like the copious illustrations and having an on-paper reference of their items in one place). Received the book yesterday, and used Google Translate (phone app) on it, thinking I'd just be able to get the gist of it - but it actually translated so clearly, in complete, coherent sentences. I felt like I was able to read the Japanese itself! Anyone who has the magazine/book (what they cleverly call "mook" in Japan) should try it out. Just open the app and tap the "camera" function in it, and then hover the phone over the text and the translation will appear on top of the original text. It's a revelation, haha. 😄

aw thank you so much for your kind words! I completely hear you on not being able to resist the guidebook, and I actually did not even realize that you could translate with a Google Translate phone app! I'll have to look into that, that is brilliant ~ thank you so much for sharing!!

Love your video. Thanks so much for sharing how you use the Hon and Alec. I have also been in decision paralysis and even though I’ve purchased the A6 for several years, I’ve struggled to use it but I absolutely love your ideas. Because of you :) I’ll order both a A5 and A6 Hon….and maybe a weeks as well.

thank you so much for your kind words, and I'm so happy to hear that these were helpful! It has definitely been a journey for me as well, but it's such a great feeling when you begin to find systems that click. Exciting to hear that you'll be ordering an A5 and A6 Hon and possibly a weeks!

6:25 I follow her RUclips channel! They are incredibly relaxing and inspirational videos on the Hobonichi.
I will also be ordering the guidebook this year, along with last year’s because it seems like a great idea to have a personal history of all the line-ups.

You already received your Guidebook? I wasn’t. Even able to order it (from US). I LOVED that little bear on/in the Guidebook and thought there would be products featuring the little bear)

I was quite surprised as well at how quickly the guidebook came! I ordered it from amazon Japan, and I wonder if there will be places in the US that stock it as well ~ the bear is just so cute!
