Thanks for this! I've been searching for a great backpack and I've been sleepless for the past 4 nights trying to search and RESEARCH on the best backpack and finally I stumbled over on this bag and after this review, I'm going to purchase it. Thanks!!!
This is it. Finally, I've been searching for the perfect backpack for the past 6 months. I don't take this lightly, gotta research every possibility possible. So after the Langly, Manfrotto models, National Geographic and several THULE models, this bad boy. Got it all and looks stylish. I hate it when you have to sacrifice practicality for style and vice versa. Thanks man for the amazing review, grabbing myself one definitely.
Just wish this thing had an option for a waist strap. Literally such a great looking bag combined with a solid flipping lay out... no waist strap option makes it not hiking friendly.. :(
joseph kelly Try lookin at the Lowepro DSLR Video Fastpack 250 AW Black Backpack. it's a really good choice I made today to buy one. love it! And is has the waist and chest straps too.
Hey. How does the backpack feel on your back when it's fully loaded. How long for can you carry it without it becomming uncomfortable on your back? Also how are the straps on the bag as I can't find any good images of them, are thay strong ? Confertable?... any way thank you for a really good review.
Nice review, I wanted to know if it's possible to fit a water bladder where the laptop/ipad would normally go? If the left side pouch cannot fit a bottle of water in there?
is this backpack practical for someone who does not have a digital camera? I have been researching backpacks for school and this backpack caught my attention
Raymond Wiik Hi Raymond, to me, yes, this backpack is very versatile and is useful even if you don't have a camera. While it works great if you have a dslr camera and lots of lenses, it also works great without a dslr. In fact, I sold my dslr camera and lenses, so one common way I use the backpack is to take out the blue divider partitions (which were meant to be used to create different-sized chambers for your camera and lenses--they stick to the backpack with velcro, so are easy to remove) and that leaves me with one upper compartment and one lower compartment (yes there are lots of additional pockets on the front of the backpack with are very useful, but for this discussion I'm not talking about those) . In the lower compartment I stuff either a bag full of cables, chargers, and other electronic gadgets, or my roll of gopro cameras. Depending on how many accessories I have with me, I can often fit *both* my gopro cameras as well as my gadget accessories in the lower compartment. In the upper compartment I carry my notebooks, books, water bottles, maps, an extra shirt or jacket, etc. In the compartment against my back I carry my laptop and iPad. For a different configuration you can also unzip the upper compartment, leaving one big compartment the size of the backpack in which you can put whatever you want, though I prefer having an upper and lower compartment--the two separate compartments helps me keep things organized. So, I love this backpack and I've used it to travel all over Europe, but either way, I hope you find a backpack you like!
Kendall Giles is there enough room for books in the top half of the bag? im a photography student so i will need to cary camera gear and books and laptop
***** Sure -- the top compartment can hold textbooks, though probably not too many depending on their size. The top area is roughly 10"x14"x6", though it's not a rigid container, so there is some flexibility. Also, FYI: I just got back from a month-long trip and I carried 2 13" MacBook Airs + an iPad with a Belkin keyboard/case in the laptop compartment of the backpack. In the camera compartment I carried my GoPro camera in a Riseful case (www.riseful.com/products/rollproiii) along with a bag containing all my electronic adapters, external harddrive, cables, camera monopod, etc. This left the top compartment free to hold books, purchases, food, maps, etc. The backpack worked out really well for me!
+likeris subruknem Yes -- I use it as my carry on bag. I could not find info about liter capacity, but here are the dimensions from the Thule website: External height54 cmExternal length45 cmExternal depth20 cmInternal height26 cmInternal length27 cmInternal depth11 cmWeight (kg)2.26 kg
samuel vega Hi Samuel, there's a link in the text below the video on youtube, or you can try here: www.amazon.com/dp/B00JXECZSE/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_KGGGtb12WH9VQCTA&tag=kytc-20&linkId=JQERKTN33OOFFS76
VitorKremer Hi Vitor, The company says the material is water-resistant, but from my use it seems very water repellant--the zippers also. Moreover, because of the rolltop design and the way the flaps are constructed, the water tends to cascade down and off the backpack. Also, the compartment for your laptop is against your back, where it is hopefully drier. However, the bag it not design to be immersed in water, and I've not worn it in extended downpours. But I have worn it in the rain and only stuff in the pocket on the side, which is not covered by any flaps and is meant to store a water bottle or tripod or something, got wet. Everything in the backpack itself stayed dry.
+Jackey Liu I love mine for travel! And I've also used this while taking classes -- especially useful when you are also carrying a laptop and/or ipad/tablet.
play at 1.5x speed. you're welcome.

Great review! Anyone knows what's the capacity of the backpack in litres, if you remove the camera / lens compartment? Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Would the bags be able to fit a 400mm lens, a 16mm wide, and a body?

I bought a Thule because of this review.
I hope you enjoy it!

Do you happen to know where is this made in?
Thanks for the video. Is it free-standing or does it tip over? Thanks!
Daniel Janca Hi Daniel, it has a small footprint and is proportionately tall, so empty it does tend to tip over.
can be used like hand bag in planes and how many liters?
+likeris subruknem Yes -- I use it as my carry on bag. I could not find info about liter capacity, but here are the dimensions from the Thule website:

Fyi it's pronounced Too-Lee. Good review.
Jordan May Thanks Jordan!
ACTUALLY... Swedish pronunciation (THE RIGHT PRONUNCIATION) is: Too-Leh. with a heavy emphasis on the "H"
Where can i get it?

Is this also good for travel and general school usage?
+Jackey Liu I love mine for travel! And I've also used this while taking classes -- especially useful when you are also carrying a laptop and/or ipad/tablet.
I think because of you, the price of this bag went up sky high. You should get a cut!
Deoesn't mention one very important point--it's waterproof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christian Santos Hi Christian, I received the backpack from Case Logic, who is re-selling it.
