    I've noticed when feeding these guys they tend to rip at the food so have to be pretty careful if they are in community tanks with everything eating from the top he/she will always tend to bit on another fishes face by accident

    11 years ago, when I asked any expert cross-breed the Golden Panchax and Blue Panchax, I got biased so badly by hobbyist.
    And today, I successfully cross-breed the two species but the coloring is disappointing.

    love this fish but a word of cautions, An adult female I had ate an adult male endler. Two days later she filled the mop with eggs.raised them for a few years and shipped eggs world wide. I sent some of my eggs of this fish to Isreal and Spain

    Great video and close ups there. They are a stunning fish, whoever managed to fix the gold form of this panchax must have been sat on a gold mine! I've always found them to be very curious, they'll come to the front of the tank to look at you even if other fish in the community retreat.
    They will snap at anything that breaks the water surface, condensation, random flys, other fish and they certainly have eyes bigger than their stomachs. I lost a female that tried to eat a mature Otocinclus which while a small fish, was still about 1/3 her size at the time, it was never going down but, lesson learned!

    Do you think you'll start adding Amazon links in the future? That would be great for this breeder box. Something I need to order but I'd love it if it would support your channel! Great information when keeping these fish especially if you plan on breeding them! You really break it down to where it's easy to understand! Thanks for another great video Blake.. My killifish eats more than just fry-- she's eaten three guppies, four neon tetras and even a white cloud minnow, all full grown in my 55 gallon. I found a guppy tail with the rest of the guppy bitten clean off! She will also devour a cricket and whole sinking pellets. I finally wised up and moved her to my peacock cichlid tank. She belongs with the big boys.

    I have two of these a pair. I also have neon tetras and fancy guppies in with them. I was told they would eat my neon's and guppies . I guess I'm gonna have to get a tank just for my killifish . I also have a bunch of x-ray Tetris and phantom Tetris, surely they won't eat them lol. Mine are young not two inches yet .

    I use 8 of these beauties in my 55 gallon female guppy tank for population control. They are full of personality and fantastic eaters. I Enjoy these guys and would love to breed some - I’ve watched them exhibit mating behaviors and laying eggs for months but I haven’t had any fry hatch. I’m wondering what’s going on?!

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  3 года назад

      Can you separate the female in to a breeder box or something to recover?
      Line of sight blocks like plants and decor can help, floating plants especially with large roots.
      More females could be another option.
      Good luck
