I LOVE this interview style. so casual, relaxed, intimate, and not forced.
It’s worked so well cos they are clearly good friends
I loved that you included the word intimate b/c people love to only associate it with sexualized behavior when it can be for many other good things.
*Not as intimate as I would have liked kmt but good interview still*
and she started the interview with the beautiful question, "should we order a pizza?". Interviews should always be that way imo
all because of jorja. She's relaxed intimate and not forced
Jorja is so inspiring. She just believes in herself, but she's not rushing her career, she knows all good things are coming. That's incredible that she loves Amy so much because the first time I heard her music I thought "if Amy was still around, I think this is the type of music she would be making." You can definitely hear the influence she has in Jorja's music, but at the same time, it's totally new & unique & gorgeous.
that little face and then the “im tan now” killed me i love this girl yo 😭😍
She's so lovely! & she has the most soothing voice!
She's fine but damn Julie is a Goddess!!!
She looks just like her brother

I love this interview
Amazing interview!
And she’s only 21😍😍😍
I first saw her on a music video ft burna boy now I'm obsessed
Beautiful soul
She seems confident/secure but in a timid way. She’s too cute.
TheActivistBook lmaooo she’s talking about jorja. The singer....
This is a perfect description
I smell a hater
this acc sums it up. its like she has timid mannerisms but you can tell shes super self-assured and confident deep down
TheActivistBook her singing voice doesn't even sound half as dark and mellow as Amy's. Their styles are so different, with Jorja taking on some R&B, light rap and trip hop in her songs. Not sure what parallel dimension's version of Amy you're listening to
this woman is the best interviewer i've ever come across
Julie Adenuga
that's a hot take
Were they already friends cause it's feel that way😂
dustin H and hot!
i thought she was terrible she was soo negative and clearly jealous af like why did she bring the pretty girl thing up like thats so disrespectful and then to pretty much force her to agree with it??? i mean i guess you can say pretty privilege but like thats how the world works pretty much every popular singer is attractive jorja just happens to be extra attractive as well as extra talented. if you actually watch the video back youll see the interviewer was super rude
Can we talk about the interviewer... Life coach, best friend, psychologist..? She's brilliant, mature, honest, understanding, deep, real, ALL the above. Hire her! Jorja beyond your years too! Bravo my Beautiful Black Sistren! So refreshing to watch.

It’s weird this video is titles colorism and pretty privilege when she barely spoke about it. Just glazed over it like a donut.
shes just about the color of a glazed donut
I really thought she was going to bother and talk about colourism, especially because she is positively affected by it people would be more likely to listen to her/believe her. ngl, I also expected more
Do you really expect someone who is fake humble like jorja to talk on colorism? She benefits highly from colorism and she loves the attention.
@@justentertainingtv9686 do u really think shes fake humble tho?
@@killermitchu please believe me I've met VARIOUS girls like her, she's for sure fake humble af, you can tell when a girls is really humble and reserved and you can tell when she's deeply cocky hidden inside.

Did you even watch the interview?
Aaron Willoughby JORJAAAAAAAAAAA
Is it just me but whenever she performs she seems older than she actually is but during interviews she literally seems her age.
Puro Veneno seen her live show and can agree
I thought I was the only one who noticed this
It's her voice i think
On stage and off stage people can be quite different, like when they're doing what they love suddenly they become confident and become fearless. Some athletes are like that as well, express themselves and are leaders on the pitch but off the field are shy and soft spoken.
on stage performers become another character-because some are insecure
The interviewer is GORGEOUS!

Mai Witzmann i mean clearly not, I love her but she just glazed right over that topic in this interview, I would think that much is apparent.
She’s a rare person in this day and age. Very hard to find people as genuine as her.
Hope she retains that always...On my channel @SingKiaMuze I have covers and originals, I hope that yall have a moment to check it out. Would love to know your thoughts :-)

Thats a fact!
This interviewer is great. Loved their conversations , it just flowed🌼. Both beautiful in & out!!
skepta's sister
This interview is barely about colorism and pretty privilege. Title is misleading.
and it doesn’t need to be. The fact that it was included at all is questionable to me. Jorja as a light skinned black person is not responsible for these systems that predate her existence and weren’t created by her so I’m confused as to why beneficiaries of colorism nowadays are being asked these things at all as if them merely validating the reality that “yes pretty privilege and colorism is real” is going to b revolutionary for darker skinned people folks who suffer from colorism due to WHITE SUPREMACY and those in the media that perpetuate it.
She sounds like Megan from love island at times 🤣 Just an observation
P K omggggggg I was just about to comment this
I thought the same thing!!
Not necessarily the way she sound, it's the way she speaks
omggg true 😂
i love how "discussing" colorism was just saying that she's a conversation starter.
Mayowa's World right!
She did touch on how she experienced it when she was younger... also said that it *was* real.
There’s another interview where she goes into it. I think she was just talking about how she had talked about it
Mae Rose Which one?
Mayowa's World I hope the rumors about her being colorist aren’t true but if it is there goes another one. 🤦🏾♀️

jorja track on black panther soundtrack one of the best. dead surprised they didnt include it in a more emotionally heavy scene with killmonger or sumn
+the Rula 'I Am' is literally the only song I still listen to from the Black Panther soundtrack. Too good.
They even sampled my favorite Travis Scott song, 'Drugs You Should Try It'.
I just got hip to "I Am" like last week thanks to Spotify, and I'm obsessed with it. She's such a dope artist!
Gray i knew it was sampled I love both song though glad Travis was still on the album regardless
It is so funny.. I’m blond and skinny & I am in love with Jorja her appearance. (Not only that ofcourse) And then she said in the interview that she usted to look up to the blond skinny girls. My point is we all look up to what we don’t have. When Jorja said that it really made me concious. I am happy with the way I look, I hope the one reading this is too. Don’t ever compare yourself to others. You are not comparable. You is you and you is good!
The issue is more that the Eurocentric beauty standard is and in recent history is the global standard. Especially if you're a mixed race/black girl growing up in an environment where you're the only, or one of few. That's more the issue for girls of color around the world.
Melissa Ridderbos well said however she was at school and the peer pressure of fitting in and not standing out is so important that it can either leave you having a good day or dreading to go back . So she just wanted to fit in .. well that's what I take from this convo they had .. again it all boils down to society , where you live , etc etc . ..
The issue I have with the black community is why do mixed black people like myself have to constantly pay for media’s negative portrayal or non portrayal of dark skinned black women? Y’all act like we aren’t black too, say we don’t count as black, say we’re benefiting from privileges we’ve NEVER asked for or wanted and that some of us aren’t even light enough to get even though we are mixed (because not ALL mixed people are light lol) but you want us to speak up on behalf of a community we’re constantly shunned from and hated by? What sense does that even make? We’re in this together but the black community constantly finds ways to alienate us and that’s not cool. If we’re good enough to fight for your rights we should have the rights to stand in the black community as BLACK people because we are. Black is dominant over everything anyway. If you color a white paper with a black marker, do you still see white underneath? 😂🤦🏽♀️
The issue is that people like Jorja who are colourists dismiss the fact that it is an issue. It's not a personal attack. Mabel did a great job at addressing it. It's like white people who dont acknowledge their privileges, that would make the world a worse place and it absolutely does. We have to be self and culturally aware.
imagine being the one she fancys cheez
Imagine turning down Drake...
Joel Compass
hahahahaha yes you just made my day Marius

"Loads of people don't even know I make music they just think im a pretty person"
It’s kind of cringe how every interview they talk to her abt colorism. I think she’s the wrong person to ask abt that as she like myself are benefactor of such. My dark skin queens are the ones to ask.
she just doesn't care unless she benefits off of it.
I get what you’re saying its like why talk about woman’s issues with a man, why talk about an issue to the benefactors of that issue
Did you just apply colorism to being allowed to talk about colorism? smh

I’m a huge fan, it sucks that she dismissed the colorism issue so easily, and the pretty privilege issues. 🤷🏾♀️

Its because of comments like this! No matter what she says, someone will have a problem
I thought she embraced it, surprised she didn't play it down...and SHE introduced "colorism" ...🤔
Were we watching the same interview?? She acknowledged and recognized it! Stop with the envy! 🤦🏾♀️
Amor Ankh
Because why else would you be on here blatantly lying if it is not projection of something within you? And this is coming from a Haitian woman!
I feel like talking about colorism and pretty privilege to a light skin pretty woman os almost like asking her to apologize for what she looks like. What is it really going to change if she " acknowledges" that yes being pretty gives minor privileges or being light skin open more opportunities. Yes she knows and what? These discussions should be held with the people who open those opportunities to prettier and lighter skin black women or those who in some form participate in perpetuating this privilege. Not with the person who is privileged persay because they are not going to change what benefits them and also their whole career is not motivated by the pretty looks. They still want to be recognized for their talent and passion.
i love this comment and i agree
Love her music but the title of this video is miserable
