Great video, thank you for uploading this. It'll be great to get iet,s 802,units on the West Coast Mainline, I've been on an azuma iet,and Transpennine 802, but I must admit the smartest looking iet has to be the Great Western units. Again thank you for the upload. 😄
Good job you didn't get too much time to explore Heysham Port, To be honest there is not much there to see apart from the port and those two large buildings you caught in shot near the station. Which are in fact Heysham A & B Nuclear power stations patroled 24/7 by armed police who sometimes don't take too kindly to people shooting video!. I kid you not. 🤔
In hindsight do you perhaps think it might have been better to have waited until the days lasted a bit longer? As a result of the early sunset you couldn't really show more of the stations. I thought this video ended on a bit of an anti-climax. On the plus side touring with friends, and the banter that prevails, does make these vlogs more entertaining.
I do get what you mean by this, and maybe there's an argument to say that waiting until the days lasted longer would be good but ultimately I travel all year long and will film in all conditions, times of day and weather. Glad you found it more entertaining though!
In 1969 the coaches had corridors and separated compartments, with steam traction of course!
And now have these on several heritage railways!
The 1 train a day to heysham port is timed to connect with the isle of man ferry, the terminal building at heysham is quite nice.
Will have to check it out some day!

You do get a few trains a day that start all the way from Leeds that finish at morecambe
Thought as such.
I've seen different videos of them day rangers a cross the network and the Cumbria Day Ranger is the top one to try out.
100% mate, one of the best in the country for both value and coverage.
We walked from Oxenholme to Kendal
Not a massive walk I'd imagine
I sent to Oxenholme way before you were born! 1969
Very nice! Bet it was very different back then!

Yeah I've heard stories about how heavily guarded the area is here, perfectly justifies the one train a day 🤣
