    Hi, thanks for the video. have you ever think you are waisting lots of material in the edges?

      Hi Santiago! You can always save and re-purpose the material.

    Oh my goodness that is one messy bag. 1. It could never be sold like that. 2. The colours are mismatched, dye then cut? 3. The first / last stitches both opened a bit after turning. 4. It looks like an item made by a novice not a demonstration by Tandy. 5. It is uneven. I use Tandy in the UK & they’re superb, but this - this leaves a lot to be desired.

    Don't sew one needle at a time. Insert the first needle half way then insert the second needle, push the thread end of the needles away from the edge of the leather which will cross the needles allowing you to take hold of the other end of both needles and pull the stitch into place. This means you can never push one needle into the thread of the other ensuring even tension, plus it is much faster to sew this way. By the 3rd inch of my first project using this technique I was much faster and neater than the one needle at a time technique. Hope this helps, if you need to see this being done go to the Weaver Leather Supply RUclips channel and look for sewing videos.

      ReaRea BowBeeaaa yes. e6000 will work well as its a contact cement.

    Excellent. The only issue I have is using water-based dye. In my experience, it always stiffens the leather out beyond comfortable.

    • @MountainFisher
      @MountainFisher 5 лет назад +1

      I NEVER use water based dye on any leather item I make that might come in contact with the user's clothes because if it gets wet some color will come off onto clothes. I use the Fiebings Pro dye only. Poor Californians cannot get it because it is banned there because the alcohol makes fumes. I'm surprised they allow whiskey.

    just one criticism i have with this otherwise great video....he should be using a stitching pony if he's doing saddle stitch

      If I didn't know any better I'd think you were being punny. lol. Yeah a stitching pony would be helpful.
