I paid in to the WNBA coffers this year for the first time, but also terminated my league passes out of frustration with W corporate and refs. I also supported some Fever player causes and will do so again in the future. The WNBA season is essentially 6 months , April through September, basically the summer months. So the salary money requires only half a year of work. Dont cry too loud.

So, when they are not playing ball, they have half of the year to get into sports broadcasting like Boston does for college sports, or sports wrting, open a sport related business, or play overseas, etc. Looks like a lot more options than most people have.
