This is the first time i really got a close look at a C1 frame. They look heavier than a C2, am i right on that? Only time i ever say a C1 frame is when i had to keep putting the huge clutch spring back on. My favorites are 58s and 61s but they are all very cool. Stay safe.
Hey Mitch, I have a question that is unrelated to the video. I’m a younger guy and I have a split window like yours with hubcaps. I want to restore the hubcaps by getting them re chrome plated and purchasing reproduction ribs and spinners! But there are some dings around the outer edges of one of the hubcaps. Do you know of a way to remove the dings, or would my best bet be to search for non dented ones? Thanks
Awesome car! I hopefully have other videos to help you with your car. It depends how dented they are. If they aren't too bad you can use a small hammer and dolly (eastwood sells trim hammers and dollies) and you can work the dents out. Then they need to be filed, sanded, and polished to make the surface smooth. They are stainless steel so you can get the dents out (if you can reach them from the back side). It may be easier to find a decent set that isnt too dented up. Just keep your eyes pealed on ebay and good deals pop up. That's how I got my hubcaps.
I do enjoy how you have documented & videoed your project! I will be watching your GREAT WORK!
Thanks Paul! I appreciate that.
I owned a 58 right after High School in 73, kicked myself every time I think about letting it go! Sure wish I had it NOW! Barn Fines KILL ME ; )
