This really great seeing you attack a major project like this is. Early corvettes were so custom no 2 the same

Thanks for watching Randy. Yeah the 53’s were definitely hand built. In general the bodies do vary a bit because of the nature of the beast. These cars are a lot of fun.

Looks like you have a really good rivet tool. Can you recommend it? What brand/model? Thanks for your videos. I am learning a lot that I'll use on my C2.

Did you learn restoration from watching your dad restore his '65?

Lance Vette we started restoring my dads car when I was about 3 so I learned a lot from that car. And we both figure it out as we go because you always run into something new.

    Why install dash before pads??

      Good question jaivette
      1. I had to paint the dash tabs and rivets body color and I didn’t want to get paint on the pads
      2. It was easier to install the windshield with them out and I didn’t get them messy from the sealant
      3. It’s easier to install the lower trim around the windshield with them out.

I always completely assemble the dash , cluster , wiring , pads etc. install as a complete unit. I believe that’s the way the assembly line did It. All is good. I like your channnel👍
