- A fire has erupted at Copenhagen’s old stock exchange, one of the Danish capital’s most famous buildings, engulfing its spire, which collapsed on to the roof. There were no reports of injuries. The historic building, whose spire is shaped as the tails of four dragon entwined, had been under renovation when the blaze broke out. The Dutch Renaissance-style building no longer houses the Danish stock exchange but serves as headquarters for the Danish Chamber of Commerce.

#Copenhagen #Denmark #Fire #News
This building was not just an iconic national symbol and landmark built by Denmark’s most renowned king; it housed hundreds of invaluable paintings, thousands of manuscripts, documents, and tomes, as well as sculptures and priceless artifacts created by Europe's legendary artists and artisans through 400 years. The rooms themselves, masterpieces of artistry, were the sites of many of Denmark’s most crucial, destiny-altering decisions made by famed figures. The magnitude of this tragedy cannot be overstated-it is a profound loss not just for Denmark, but for Europe as a whole. Four hundred years of the richest forms of European culture, history and heritage have gone up in flames.
😔
Did fire damaged all of the building in interior, most of it or some part of it? Is it known how much of it all survived, approximately?
@@JohnnyBGoode-gh5ip it's burned to the ground
@@POLITICUS-DANICUS so I guess all what's left is masonry frame construction... oh. It is known how many artifacts were saved, artworks, documents e.t.c. or is it to early to ask?
@@JohnnyBGoode-gh5iphalf of the building still stands, the other half is close to collapsing. Right now only the walls are standing on that half.
Luckily they managed to save most of the paintings.
The old Stock Exchange “Børsen” was a historic and very beautiful building in Copenhagen - 400 years old 🏰 💔
EVERYTHING in Denmark was historic, and very beautiful..... This SINGLE brown brick building, just happened to be where the elites live and work..... So this one they care about.... THIS ONE is a "national tragedy"....... Cry me a river.
Notre Dame caught fire 15th April and this 16th April. Spooky.
Its not a coincidence
@@HarleyLuna31 🤣🤣🤣
@@HarleyLuna31 It's always somebody's birthday. In this case, the Queen's
Not really.
Two different days, two different types of buildings, etc. Is this the best your brain could do?
et stykke danmarkshistorie der forsvinder 😞💔🇩🇰
Welcome to the EU friend! You don't need all that old dictator heritage.... People are FREE now.
@@monopalle5768 Stop pretending to be someone from Denmark like you did on your previous comments on other videos and channels! We in Denmark do care about this tragedy!
Just as Notre Dame’s new spire is unveiled! It seems we have a global anti-spire arsonist on our hands.
Its a con-spire-cy
Its a pire pyre fire.
After this and Notre-Dame , we really should stop trying to renovate famous buildings.
I mean, every year hundreds of historical buildings are renovated...
More like we should really make sure the contractors we hire for the renovations are well vetted. Don't just pick the lowest bidder. Sometimes you get what you pay for. If the subject is as valuable as a 400-year old landmark, we should pick the best contractor regardless of price because they will be handling something that represents history in and of itself. They are not just renovating but preserving to ensure the structure last longer because wear and tear causes their decay faster. So they should pick the contractors who know how to do it correctly. Only a chosen few can handle this type of veryy important project that has national significance.
😢
This is horrible!
Another suspicious fire. I wonder what caused that?
Danish authorities starting the renovation:
Notre Dame… what do you mean… Notre Dame?
I seen this in lilla akullkt
🧐 Interesting.. should help to cover the actual crash
😢😢😢😢😢
Horrible. :(
The Netherlands?
No, Copenhagen Denmark.
It’s located north from Germany, west from Sweden, south from Norway.
But Denmark and the Netherlands are countries that are often mistaken for each other, yet they’re both very unique countries and cultures.
But you were close enough that if you had said this to a Danish person they might’ve laughed with a confused expression, before correcting you
@@cover_mystic545 I know it's Denmark, I'm from Sweden. I just wondered if the dutch had anything to do with this. It wouldn't surprise me to say the least.
And yes, it would be eaisier if Netherlands was danish for everyone because people don't even know if it's called the Netherlands or Holland. Would be easier to just call it Denmark.
@@cover_mystic545who cares about that country

Take it easy
Nigel Powers.
What? Why would it be the Netherlands? 😂
* FINALLY the people of copenhagen can relate, when the rest of us cry out in agony......
😂😂😂😂
It's never been officially acknowledged but Notre Dame came down the same way. "Accidentally" set on by fire immigrant workers.
Well. You get what you pay for eh.
Sure
I’m so traumatized. At first I thought it was Gaza 😭
Yeah , your crazy.
First, how can you be traumatized over something you’re not apart of. An second, you spend wayyyy too much time focusing on a place your not apart of

The Guardian likes this as the Exchange represents capitalism.

(Surely, the least worst of economic systems)...
Oh LOOK, another ""Electrical Fire""
The danish government just got caught by a soldier, for violating their own constitution, it was by a homeland security officer who declared war on the government, police, and main military for it the day before. The unit that caught the state was the resistance movement in WW2. The fire was a political strike after the government kept hiding the violation from its citizens. The police have even been aggressive in arresting the officer but failed the day before this, now their building is burning! The police think they can beat a military officer now look at their building burning.
Commiserations to the former workers of this iconic building.
With the benefit of hindsight, I sincerely hope that lessons will be learned this time and building safety procedures will be reviewed thoroughly and vigorously to ensure that this doesn't occur again on UK soil.
Resolve and meaningful dialogue, not the usual lip service given by opportunistic career politicians or useless Mayors
This is in Denmark, not the UK
(But you probably meant Dk)
