Thanks Randy! It very rarely plays ball and especially here in Scotland so I made the most of it!
      Have a great weekend!🤗🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Great video David and congratulations on the spectacular sunset conditions. There must be a potential Calendar shot in there.

Thanks Mike!! There was definitely a few contenders!!! I have probably missed the boat to get a calendar ready 2025 as you need to start ridiculously early but 2026 is the year and that will give me time to get even better candidates!!
      Have a great weekend!🤗🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Fantastic work David and good examples with the rules. The images and the place are stunning! I have one query though- Shooting landscapes in the months of rain, when the clouds are generally dull grey with no sun, everything turns just green or dull colours with foliage blends the sharp shapes of rocks and mountains. Unless there are clouds I have found it difficult to find new inspirations. If you ever get that weather, would be interesting to see your point of view and creations :) thank you!

Hey!! Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to message!
I know exactly what you mean about full and overcast days. They can be very uninspiring especially if there is no texture to the clouds. On days like that I might challenge myself to get out of comfort zone and look for more abstract images by zooming in on little areas of interest. I might also consider a black and white shoot and looks for areas of good contrast. Finally, on some days I just use the experience as a reconnaissance mission and image what it would be like with great light and plan to come back!!!🤗🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Great video and what a glorious location. I can only imagine what that was like to see in person.
Good video for me as it reminds of of the basics of doing photography
You mentioned about the gear. Some of the most iconic photos of all time were taken on old cameras, and no one says it looks poor because they didn’t have 100 Mp
I like to see a video of exposure blending. Never done that before myself

Thanks Glenn! Great point about the old photos!! It blows my mind that when processing the old film stock, to dodge and burn their images they had to cover them or expose parts long to light. You should see the developing notes of Ansel Adams!😳
I will try and get round to a video on exposure blending soon but it is really very simple with technology now. What software do you use to edit your photos?

You have a great weekend too. Would really love to see more of your photographs, but your website does not appear to be working. Are you on any other platforms like Instagram or Vero?

      Hey Mike!
I really need to find time to update my website and haven’t because I was contemplating moving provider. I have a FB page Amazing Scottish Photography and most shots are on there. I’m also on VERO and IG but probably post less frequently there!🤗🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
