I think I prefered the Yamaha HS8 in this test. It seems more clear sounding, however the JBL might be better for longer listening sessions with it's more inoffensive sound.
The Yamahas sounds more flat and neutral while the jbl sounds more hifi to my ears. I’m really looking forward to see how the Tannoy gold compared to the Yamahas please.
Depends on you’re need yes Yamahas are harsh and yes Yamahas are fatiguing for long listening sessions and yes Yamahas are better monitors for mixing while the jbl will be a better choice for music playback
It's crazy how the HS series sound different (and better) as you go up in size. HS5 is unbearable and sounds like a broken toy, HS7 is better but kinda harsh, but HS8 is pure heaven.
the same track is playing, seamlessly, but the speakers switch back and forth? did you actually record the speakers playing or edit in the tracks? I turned my monitor off and the sound never changes on my Tektons
This comparison tells you almost nothing. There’s a reason why this is not done. The recording equipment colors the sound. Both monitors are great for the money, but the listening test is nearly worthless. Bad demo. Just show the graphs (which are the same over and over again BTW).
The choice doesn't matter for you, if you cannot tell the difference. Being a mixing engineer i can tell about the significant differences even when i hear this through pods. If i hear this on my setup. It is like comparing apples and oranges

I'm impressed with the JBL pair.
Digital Stereophony, I have the JBL308 and the hiss is noticeable and I want to upgrade, which monitors should I consider?
Yamaha's have amazing stereo image... Brights... I love them.
Would like to hear apples to apples with the JBL 308P MKII, since the Yamaha was an 8". 🤔
i Agree
That's true me to.
I liked the sound of the Yamaha HS8! Sounds more transparent.
What did you listen to to reach that conclusion? , I have the hd280 pro from sennheiser, and I prefer the jbl.

ie600 Jbl for music. Yamaha for monitoring.
Yamaha HS8 - 10 JBL 306P MKII - 9

yamaha is the worst speaker in world

Btw I own the jbl lsr305 for 6 years now.
Bahram Motlagh krks might be the worst lol

The guitar sounds better on the HS8's on the metal head track.
the same track is playing, seamlessly, but the speakers switch back and forth? did you actually record the speakers playing or edit in the tracks? I turned my monitor off and the sound never changes on my Tektons
They are close. JBL has more accented highs but overall I would tak HS8 due to less fatiguing and smoother sound.
I have never heard that Yamahas have *_less_* fatiguing sound. Never!
You got this backwards. I've used the HS8 for some djing, on the booth mixer we turn the EQ down on the highs!
1:33 Metal Head - what track it is ?
The HS8 got better Bass extension and better imaging but damn, these JBLs are impressive for half the price.
For half of price JBL is strong winner. For me HS8 is no more tha 15, 20% better.
They sound almost the same, just tiny difference but I dont know how to describe it
i was thinking the same thing, but for me the HS8s hit better
@@TheJohnnySilver1 yeah I think the 8" woofer makes that little difference about imaging e soundstage
Yamaha hs8 winner, sound and price
I wasn't able to find a song Dream A dream. Is it possible to write the singer name and track? Thanks in advance
Mortals: very low bass is better for me in JBL
JBL 308Pmkii vs yAMAHA HS 8 - PLEAS GIVE US YOU THOUGHT ON THE AUDIO OUT PUT OF THE SPEAKERS , IT WILL BE HELP FULL
Why do all the charts doesn't seem to matter what make of speaker have that severe dip at 90hz? They all seem to be the same
That is the room null from the room in which the frequency responses where measured
Right I thought they were official graphs you can't get the official graphs. Can you not record it outside 8-ft off the ground
Source greater than both. Wonder if all these vids are getting negated by a poor mic ?
Sounds like the JBL's have an issue around the crossover point.
yes they are at 1600??? i have all 3 sizes
Usó unos Audio-technica M50x son muy fieles escuchando sus grabaciones.
would you consider adding one of the krk v series sets sets to your testing routine? KRK v6 s4 or v8 s4. Thanks.
They sound like muddy crap in comparison.
@@fugitivephilo maybe the rokits. the s4s are pretty nice
JBL -The best!

JBL is just HIFI souding, nothing interesting here.
