In this 6 video series I show you how to make a professional quality paracord bullwhip from start to finish! Buckle up, it's over 4 hours of content and I share as much whipmaking knowledge as I can in that time.
The final layer of plaiting! The overlay of this bullwhip will be 16 plait and done in a Vertical Strip pattern. Plaiting the overlay is my favorite part of whipmaking. It's cathartic and relaxing, just sit back and plait!

This series was so good to watch!! I've never had a bullwhip but i want one but there is no way i could make one!! So on your etsy store can you choose custom colours? And do you recommend a 6ft for a beginner? Im 6ft myself and 100kgs if that matters. P.s the amount of detail and perfection you put into these whips is amazing definitely pushed me over the line to get one now thanks 👍

English is not my first language so I'm not sure what exactly is the product you refer throughout this series as athletic tape. ¿Is it tape meant to be applied on the skin to shape muscles and avoid in recovery from injury? ¿Is it meant to be used on the handles of bats, sticks, rakets and other sport equipment to provide grip? ¿Is it specifically meant for the striking part of hokey sticks to add a ton of grip?
I don't know what I'll be able to get my hands upon,
¿perhaps would all of the described products work well for whip making?
¿Would surgical tape work?
Both of these tapes will work great! any textile based tape, so hockey tape or athletic injury wrapping tape will be perfect

Honestly, I think cracking it is the best way to break it in! Especially if it's waxed, give it a little time to break down a bit

I was thinking there might be a special way to break it in…like only going half-speed for so many cracks then gradually increasing power/speeding up, etc. or doing so many cracks of a certain kind then switching to another crack to balance out the roll out. Just over thinking it! HAHA!
Hey I seen you waxed your glow in the dark whip, is waxing a crucial step to do and what difference does waxing a whip make?
Waxing is not crucial, but it gives the whip a water resistant layer that helps protect the whip. It also gives the whip a professional looking matte finish that I like!
These are going to be jumbled, but are questions I was wondering about throughout the process and figured I would ask them here after I finished binging the whole series.
1: Why do you use electrical tape, athletic tape, carpet backing and medical tape when you could use silicon epoxy and cloth? Similarly, why not just worm, parcel and serve the whole of the whip core after every section of plait you finish?
2: When you drop the cords and incorporate them into the core of the whip's design, why didn't you splice them into the core and then feather them out to create smoother transitions?
3: Was there a reason why you didnt concentrically crown the whole of the whip core instead of plaiting it? If so, what was it?
4: When fabricating the weighted core, why not just use sand and then heat treat the whole of the outside of the core to effectively shrink wrap the sand into place?
5: When fully fabricated, what is the approximate weight of the whip?
6: When are you going to elaborate on the estranged superstitions of whip makers? That sounds odd yet fascinating.
