What a great disservice we did for Ferdinand after his racing career ended. Sent to Arrow Stud in Japan & then, after a long stud career, was slaughtered sometime between 2001 & 2002. RIP Ferdinand.

Hated that filly! But only because we could not beat her! As the daughter of the trainer of Fran's Valentine, Lady's Secret was the last one that was hoped to be found in the entries. On a serious note, Lady's Secret deserved every honor and accolades she received. She was a monster! As far as Fran's Valentine, or Frannie as she was known to those who surrounded her, she was a champion in her own right! Thanks for this post , and replay of a very special time!

The absolute balls of steel for the owners of Wild Again to put up that kind of money to enter him in that first Classic. They could only break even or better on that investment by getting first or second.
They were absolutely crawling the last furlong, but Wild Again going 45 for the half, 1:10 for 3/4 of a mile, and being headed the ENTIRE race, was a hell of an effort on that horse's part.
Im really glad they didnt take him down. Wild Again deserved that win.

@@gregrambo606 Thats so sick you were there that day. The FIRST Breeders Cup, one of the GREATEST races of all time, and one of THE GREATEST calls in history, by the Babe Ruth of horse racing announcers.
Awesome to see that in person, and you couldnt have asked for a better climax for such a huge venture that horse racing put out for the first time that day.

Though most people think Secretariat was the best race horse. I personally think Seabiscuit was, his story is filled with grit, determination and love. Yes Secretariat was definitely one of the best race horses ever, Seabiscuit was a underdog that became a champion. The Sunday Silence vs. Easy Goer rivalry was the genesis of the East vs. West Coast debate. The BC Classic should have ended it, but; this was not to be. This has been great for the BC Races ever since.

He has the greatest offspring lineage of all time the line through his son Saddlers Wells his son Galileo and now his son Frankel who is the quickest stud horse ever to reach 100 stake winners and currently stands at £450.000 a go That's just under $600.000 US and it's rising quickly as he is getting grade 1 winners constantly.
