So few sleeps left until Stitch North! 🎉🎉🎉 Yay! Congrats on your sorrel not fitting anymore - weird way to say it, but you’ve been putting in the work and it’s paying off! And that’s exactly why I haven’t started knitting any sweaters yet. I’ve been working on my health and losing weight as well and I didn’t want to knit something that I wouldn’t be able to wear. I do hope you find a solution though because your sorrel is so lovely! Mwah!
Rachel! Greetings from Dallas! Leaving next Monday for Toronto and Stitch North! Going a few days early to see some sites in Toronto. Am getting excited (and nervous for the actual trip)! Looking forward to meeting you in person!!!
I hope you have fun at Stitch North! I really enjoyed Jacob Palooza last fall. Congrats on the weight loss! It's not easy. I have 9 2020 wips left. All but one of them are large projects. And 6 of them started as Sal's. I just started Spring Quaker from Lila's Studio and am loving it! Travel safe.
It was so lovely catching up with you, Rachel! I just got your Forest Path WIP and cannot wait to start working on my section. Time to start narrowing down my Stitch North WIP list.
I have one WIP from 2020 remaining & it’s my current focus piece I hope to finish in May, haed mini dark goddess. Have a great trip to SN & the States. Safe travels 💜💜
Hi Rachel. To answer your question about your sweater. Steaming (and and iron would work but not touching) will make your sweaters grow depending on the fiber. It’s another way to block your items. You could try popping it in the dryer for a few minutes but you have to be very careful not to shrink it too far. I have tried that in the past. But the best think would be reknitting the body. With a few decreases on the sides as long as the yoke still fits you. Good luck!
If the yarn is super wash I don’t know how to shrink it, because usually super wash makes it bigger. You may have to pull part of the sweater out to make it smaller to fit you but if you hear anything else, let me know.. 😊 💜
I’ve got 3 projects left from 2018 to 2020. They’re all 45(ish)% or more complete. 1 is a small, 1 is a large medium, 1 is a giant. 1 project left from 2021 (large), 13 from 2023 😊 (startitus hit hard in Oct), 3 from 2024.
I am reading acotar at the moment. I found it by accident after reading the first crescent city book and realising there was 2 whole series that came before that so I thought I’d better tackle those before carrying on. Honestly it is not my favourite. I don’t see what all the fuss is about! Unpopular opinion or what 🤭 Currently I’m trying to learn how to crochet and have discovered crochet is HARD! I now understand why my mum tried and failed multiple times to teach me when I was a kid 😂 but I really want to learn how to make those cute little animals!
I really enjoyed Jumper by Steven Gould. Trigger warning, child abuse. Parental loss, terrorism. I thought it was well written sci-fi with a good story. The movie twisted the story and bore very little resemblance to the book.
Great update, can't wait to see some of these In person at stitch north! Thanks for the shop shout out also 🥰
