Agree with both opinions of this film: I vividly remember seeing it in theaters when first released; it was gritty, tense, kept you on the edge of your seat for the entirety. This speaks to the majority of the acting from the entire cast. Not at all sure how it sits with @ 6.8/10 on IMDB.This film was one of the upper echelon ones by Phoenix,in my book as well 🔥🔥 ❤
3:00 the way the police man holds him up and then he falls down.. such a good work of camera symbolizing the one thing holding him up, keeping him safe left him now which was the police yeah too.. But mostly his father because of whom he tried to be better and who always held him up throughout the movie and his life, Incredible hidden gem guys, be lucky if you have seen it☺️❤️
Do you hear that raunchy music playing in the background mixed with the rain as he’s telling him to pullover but he just keeps driving through? That mixed with my emotions.. OMG. One of the best intense scenes EVER! This movie is amazing through & though👌🏼
This is such an amazing chase scene, though short. But it packs a punch, the frantic feeling, with the rain clouding the view for the driver and the audience. I don't really remember much of the film, but this sequence.
Yeah you can sort of tell but it’s very well done I still immerse into it and of course they have sprinklers over the close up shots and the CGI is more from inside the car shots while driving as to not risk anyone’s lives
Jesus Christ no one has a clip of where he gets a phone call that his brother was shot and might be dead then he freezes on the phone then the girl ask who was on the phone??
This is one of my favorite Joaquin Phoenix movies. It’s so hard to watch. Such an underrated film
Yeah true, I just watched it was over the top! You should watch return to paradise or clay pigeons too trust me, they're hidden gems😉
Yeah man. I just watched it again last night and I had to come back on here to rewatch this scene. Incredibly intense.

Under rated movie especially this scene
Most terrifying car chase ever
Good film, worth a watch but this scene is incredible. So tense, intense, that unnerving, uncomfortable sound in the background. Brilliant 👏🏻

'Raunchy' music?
Its the wipers not music but i see how it may sound like music
Just got hit with a shotgun blast....foot is stuck on the accelerator
Perfect chase scene. It would probably really feel like and look like

Did you know the rain in this scene is all computer generated? Look it up, it’s true.
What the hell ? I've checked, but there's NO WAY none of that scene was shot under the rain.

I always got anxiety from this scene for some reason
The hit car was mysterious. Incase you were wondering why this scene hits you so hard.
Mysterious or devious? They used the same car as the police, a Caprice, to get close enough to the convoy for the fireworks to begin.
love this movie
1:46: I couldn’t even imagine😮😮😮😮 Seeing your own Father or Mother getting Murdered and there’s nothing you can do about it😢😢😢😢😢
The choice to mute the volume of the scene was such a good one
kinda crazy that all of the rain during the chase is CG
Sick film!
Yeah.. ☺️
Massive plotholes but what a cracking movie. Some scenes are right up there with the best. Like this one
I rewatched it recently, I didn't even notice the plotholes
Which plotholes?
What plot holes are you referring to?
Silent Hill meets William Friedkin
Seems like after shooting Duvall the killers would have stuck around to finish the job on Bobby.

Haha well you might have to watch that film again..😉
Great scene sucks but how they filmed it was pretty awesome !
Call me Batman.
