I raced there in 2015 and was one of the best experiences of my life. I don't really remember the last 100-ish meters but I still remember getting the medal and a volunteer saying "You are an Ironman". My wife and 6 friends traveled by car for 14 hours to get to Nice and support me which is just a fantastic feeling to get that kind of support. The entire IM France team was awesome and helpful across the entire weekend and I am definitely coming back one year :)
not trying to take away anything from the handicapped gentleman, but when he was talking about how he made it mentally... didnt he just sit there throughout? was he involved in any way other than being pushed/pulled? i dont want to demean him, i just dont see how this was an effort on his part.
Erik Markus I agree he at least should have tried to do the marathon in his wheelchair -just sitting on your ass doesn't take any effort -it's ridiculous lmao and smh
