For the controller designed to be used with the switch light.. instead of having two D pads, how come the D pad on the left wasn't the same circle that is used for the 3DS ?????
8-Bit-Do created that controller not Nintendo, while that would be a good idea, I'm almost certain that Nintendo Copywrited the circle pad. Nintendo should take a page out of 8-Bit-Do's book and re-create it with the circle pad lmao
the idea of the 8 bit controller is so games that should use the dpad to move but only move with the analog stick like the newest zelda game, now you have a way to do that
I like how the GameCube joicons don't have the indents in the right direction they should go up, down, left, right and diagonally but if u look at them they don't and u don't even say anything about it.
The GameCube button layout correlates to how often the buttons are used, the A button was the main button in most games so it’s the biggest, the B button was the secondary button so it’s smaller but still a separate button, the X and Y buttons were the least often used buttons so they wrapped around the A button, so the layout of GameCube controllers were made so that while pressing the A button you could keep holding it and just slightly move you thumb to press the and then the B button is placed for similar purposes, so that’s why they have that funky layout

I actually got the 8BitDo Lite controller partly because of this review because it works with Raspberry Pi (and therefore RetroPie) and since it works with Mac, it technically works with iOS 13 onwards through the Bluetooth switch option in the accessibility menu. And since the individual buttons are the same size as the JoyCons, the button caps from Skull & Co fit just fine. The Lite is actually perfect for games on the iPad (especially Apple Arcade), a fair number of the emulators in RetroPie, and plays NES/SNES on Nintendo Online.
