I'm back, because over time the Hurlston`s trio has become even more attractive than when first listened, the music creates an amazing friendly atmosphere in which want to stay, beautiful, refined, noble music about life's wisdom, mutual understanding, mutual support

The connection to Stanford is heard very clearly in this trio. Much more than I've heard in any works of the other students of the professor. Perhaps that's why he was his teachers favourite?
The likeness is a good one however, since his writing is just as beautiful and his part writing and counterpoint just as well worked out as in his teachers works.

Wonderful music. A tragic shame he died so young, As a sufferer from bronchial asthma myself as a child, I know modern
medicine might have saved him. So many died so young in the past. Always makes me sad.

Beautifully crafted trio! Very sweet in character, just music trying to be beautiful, without trying to be controversial. Also, it's very interesting to end the piece in minor, even though it started in major, like Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony. It's very sad that Hurlstone died not long after this trio was composed, imagine what other wonderful pieces he could have written had he lived longer.

Great! I stumbled on his Piano Quartet in E minor just the other day, I hope you're planning to do that too. :)
