Wow it's amazing how you'd think you're the only weirdo that would look up queue music for a ride and you look at the comments and realize there are hundreds of people with the same thoughts. How cool!
the part that starts at 4 min is one of my favorite thing to listen to and I love it's whimsical, innocent portrayal of space. makes me thing of astronauts floating around the space station and laughing and doing flips as they look out the window down at earth.
Last Friday me and my friends were literally in a 2 hour wait line... literally spent my time goofing around w/ them while that played in the background.. so beauitful.
I know this may sound kinda lame, but I cried tears of joy listening to this because as shitty as life gets, Disney will always be a happy place where you don't have to have a care in the world. I'm going there in December/January and I absolutely cannot wait! I just need to get through finals first. :P XD
This is me now! I'm going on December 26, 2017 and staying until January 4, 2018! I'm so excited but everytime I think about this I'm like oh yeah finals are here to screw with my happiness. How was your trip?
I hate the day after Disney world cause yeah a couple hours back at home is nice but then you realize you have to wait almost a year or more to go back
My family and I are season pass holders, it’s not unusual for us to go three or four times a year, until Covid hit. 2020 was such a disaster, being trapped inside my house I felt alone and separated from the people and things I cared about. Naturally I missed disney world, and Space Mountain specifically. Every time I hear the music or go on the ride I’m brought back to the most wonderful memory of my life with my older brother and sister when I was really young. It’s such a safe space for me when I’m feeling down, and we all experienced a lot of that in 2020. It’s been more than a year since I’ve heard those familiar sounds and songs or seen those familiar sights, and I want nothing more to be there. I can happily say with tears in my eyes that after what felt like an eternity of longing, my family and I are finally making a return trip soon. I can’t wait to ride space mountain with my sister and relive some of those wonderful memories. I imagine we will spend a fairly significant amount of time in line just to listen to the music and take it all in together. Truly the stuff of dreams. I doubt anybody will read this, I just wanted to put this into the cosmos. It’s my love letter to space mountain and Disney world as a whole. See you next time fellow star travelers🚀
Well said. Being an annual pass holder as well as being apart of other memberships for Disney is possibly the BEST investment. Going to Disney since I was a child and now getting to the age where theirs such very little vacations I can go with my whole family is kind of heartbreaking. Next visit is this July and ima make sure everyday theirs a smile on my face no matter how bad it can get. Covid was the worst. Seeing videos of Disney closing and then hearing ride musics just made everyone tear up. Glad we can look back at that now and say “we made it through”. I hope you can soon go to Disney with your family and enjoy every single thing about it. Remember it can just be you going alone to Disney and you’ll feel just like the little kid you once were.
I need to let everyone here know, George Wilkins, the composer of this beautiful set of music, just passed away last month at 90. A life well lived and I know he left an impact on us all.
May he rest in peace. He's left a wonderful legacy of wonderful music in these Parks. He may not be as iconic as the Sherman Brothers, but he's still amazing!!
Here we are in quarantine stuck in the nostalgia of a place we’ll never forget. Hoping when the quarantine passes we’ll all be back at the place we can call a childhood home. To infinity and beyond.
0:00-0:28 I imagine a worn looking man looking out into space from a ship's bridge and remembering his time in the service as a pilot, and the friends he knew and lost in some planetary war far away.
What I always loved is how when walking into another section of the line, the two soundtracks would compliment each other perfectly as one faded out and the other came in
When ever it is late over here in the South East of England in the garden of England (Kent) I hear the wind coming from the open window, cars going by, the news spouting out the same old crap, but deep down, it makes me feel warm inside knowing that this is playing on the other side of the world in Florida as I slowly fall asleep! It’s a feeling I can’t describe. It’s not the same playing it out loud over here on a phone. You physically need to be there. Just knowing others are having a great time though, makes me feel great!
I went to space mountain recently and that music just made me marvel at the vastness of space, and if there are other beings out there... It is the most magical and terrifying experience I had in a disney park
The star tunnel song hits me so hard in the feels. I know I go there once or twice a year but the first time. I was like 9 and my bro was 7. We came into the star tunnel and heard this and it got us so hype and stuck in our head. This ride is my favorite and if they take away that song I don't know what would do. Probably something crazy
:( Tears fill my eyes when it starts because my family are Disney-holics! Me visit Disney so much and this is my favorite ride. Man does this ride tell some story about my life. I'm writing a book and magical inspirations fill my writing!!!!!!!
I LOVE it at 4 minutes in it brings me so much nistolga and I almost cry cause I miss going to it when I was younger never newing how much I would teresure it for the rest of my life
Currently crying because after a year of trips being cancelled, I finally was able to snag some tickets when the parks reopened. Can’t tell you how excited I am for this ride.
I remember when I was little I was afraid to ride space mountain. Then in 96 I was ready but it was closed and was so disappointed I couldn’t go on. I had k wait till we went back around 98.l still remember the first time walking in and hearing this music. It was better than I imagined it to be. Not the biggest coaster but still my favorite. From the line to the ride and the awesome exit conveyor belt that’s now sadly gone. Loved it.
8:35 - 11:49 ok, this entire ost video is a pure gem, but this snippet of the music really gave me goosebumps. It gives an ominous, wandrous, and...somewhat eerie vibe and tone. I assume this plays in the third room you enter (the boarding room), giving you that tension buildup before your fast, dark journey through the stars. In the meantime, while in this dimly lit blue room, you're watching people take off down dark tunnels, foreshadowing what you'll experience. All this combined with this music greatly enhances this immersive experience before taking off into space mountain.
Thanks for putting this up, especially the entrance music. When I hear that trumpet part at the beginning, I remember the night I was there from midnight until 3AM - running from the exit, back to the entrance and hearing that trumpet part welcome me back each time. It plays at the start and again at 1:50. What a wonderful memory!!
It's so beautiful. FIlled with superfluous emotions and tranquility simultaneously. Radiant memories are everywhere when hearing this. If I don't cry while listening to such divine music then I will have a gaping hole in my heart for a while. The line is in all honesty better than the ride itself. Being there is so genuine as if one day it were to happen, being in Outerspace. ridicule me if you want but I hope some of you can relate to this eccentric and blissful experience
I remember it being close to night and we went on space mountain already but I wanted to go on it again along with my sister. So we went back and the line was about 2 hours long but I did not mind just because I would get to listen to the music. Unfortunately, my sister did not want to wait 2 hours so she forced me to not go on it again. ITS BEEN FOUR YEARS AND I MISS IT.
Wow I go to Disney world all the time and I've never heard the whole beggining song through because I go fast through the line by fast pass or late at night but the parts I hear give me the best feelings of the best times. Thanks for posting this
You really have to have great hearing to hear this. It only plays for a second before you walk through the Star Tunnel as there are other sounds mixing in with this entrance music. It's a total shame because this entrance music is really lovely.
There is something about the soundtrack to Space Mountain that makes my heart smile. The nostalgic sounds coming together with the excitement an almost retro feel makes me want to listen to it over and over again.
I wish I could put into words how this music speaks to my soul. For a long time, I believed that I was traumatized by my father ( I was VERY young when I first rode SM), but as I grow older, I am beginning to dig more deeply into these inexplicable feelings. I have felt very fearful for so long, afraid to fall asleep because I might finally see my abuser’s face in my dreams. But this song rocks me to sleep and somehow let’s me know I am okay, that I am safe. Childhood is such a magic time, even if it is riddled with abuse. ❤️ #youaremypeople
In the last months i have been feeling terrible, but this and other Disneyland songs always make me feel happy and like escaping of my problems, givng me hope. Also in some years maybe i'll go to DIsneyland again.
This music gives me the same feeling that I get when I'm in love, and this is very nostalgic for me, growing up in Orlando and going to Disney World so often.
This soundtrack/theme is truly inspirational! I love how it's upbeat at first then calmer toward the end. Great job Disney & thanks for the sweet childhood memories!

and then you realize you're the only one commenting on a comment from a year ago XD
Thousands at the very least xD
Soo true!!
I can smell the ride while listening to the intro.
Bassman Dan yep
mmm cold
Amazing how the brain works with memory triggers. 💗
ah yes smells like sweaty people

This is the most beautiful and atmospheric music in any Disney park.
The star tunnel and Soarin are my top 2

Tony, why grow up!!! You can still go to the most magical place on earth!!!
Go through the line and ride high. It will bring you back to the first time you went through it as a kid.

You not lame you magical
The star tunnel at Disney is one of my all time favorite places to be lol. I dont even mind when the line is long.
So true. The holograms, darkness and music are very relaxing and loaded with disney nostalgia.
Neither do I, last time i went, i didn't even have a fast pass.
I just got back from Florida last night...

yheah I feel the same , Space mountain is probably the scariest roller Coster of Walt Disney World.
Hahah yes
no
@RealThrillz the 2nd song is the star tunnel. And I don't know the names of the rest sorry man.

Worked at Space Mountain for 4 months so this is definitely nostalgic for me :)
I was there Spring of 2015 haha
Is working for space mountain fun?
Yes it is. I really enjoyed my time there and made a lot of great friends
No you cannot. The only time the lights are turned on is if the ride has shut down.

I haven't been to Disney since February of 2020. I've forgotten how it smells, so I'm trying to remember the music as much as I can. I miss it.
I think this attraction had the best music inn the magic kingdom (besides haunted mansion of course)
LOL!
Or Splash Mountain, or Pirates of the Caribbean.
8:35 is by far my favorite. Especially when you're in line and the train goes by ahead, and the room rattles a little bit.
Oh, what I wouldn't give to be 8 years old at the Magic Kingdom again!
